If you are a fan of subjecting yourself to poor customer service, slow delivery times, and unpalatable food, Leonardo's is for you!
In an attempt to branch out from my normal delivery locations and support local business, I decided to give Leonardo's a chance; I would have been better off going to the local convenience store and indulging in the pre-made, processed foods that stare you in the face at the register counter.
I called and ordered a large chicken cordon bleu calzone and an order of chicken broccoli and ziti. The girl who answered the phone, to her credit, was very pleasant. After completing my order, I informed the receptionist that I had a coupon that took two dollars off of an order which exceeded $22.00. I was transferred to a man, I presume the manager, who informed me that this is an old coupon that is no longer accepted. Despite the fact there is no expiration date posted, I told him that it was not a big deal.
It took approximately 50 minutes to receive my delivery order. I live about one and half miles away from Leonardo's. While this order took a substantial amount of time, the delivery guy was cordial.
Opening up the box and excited to try this new(er) establishment, I quickly realized that an error had been made. They delivered a chicken cordon bleu pizza instead of a chicken cordon bleu calzone. Although I was upset about this, I was very hungry and I decided to eat the pizza and not even call Leonardo's to let them know about this error on their end; however, after my company and I tried some pizza, we immediately found that we could not eat it. Aside from the fact that this pizza was flavorless and did not even come close to tasting as chicken cordon bleu should, the amount of grease was intolerable. There was literally a puddle of grease that flooded the perimeter of the pizza box. Additionally, this made for a very soggy pizza. My arteries began clogging at the mere sight of this sorry excuse of a pizza.
After delving into the chicken brocolli and ziti, we found it to also be lacking any appealing flavor. Due to overcooking, much of the ziti was hardened.
I decided to call back Leonardo's to simply let them know about my poor first experience with them. The same girl who initially took my order answered the phone, and after informing her about the mistake, she had the man speak to me. I nicely explained that an error had been made and that I had tried to ignore it and eat the pizza. As previously stated, I told him that my party and I did not enjoy the food. He immediately said that he could only exchange the pizza if none of it was eaten. I told him that due to our hunger and the hopes of not having to even initially call back, some slices were eaten. He dismissively and rudely said, "you ate some of the pizza. What are you going to do about it." Taken aback, I said that if he doesn't want to fix his error and/or provide a reimbursement, I simply won't ever order from them again. He repeated himself by saying, "what are you going to do about it." At this point, still hungry, feeling like death from the slice of grease-soaked pizza I ate, and patience gone, I told him that both his food and his customer service sucks. He promptly yelled and told me that I can't talk to him like that. This is when he hung the phone up on me.
It is a rare occasion that I ever feel the need to write a review either positive or negative. Additionally, having worked in various customer service industries for many years, I understand that mistakes can be made; however, this first and last experience with Leonardo's was horrendous.
I urge you to save your money and protect your health by ordering food from the other deserving and delicious establishments that are located throughout the region. Leonardo's delivery menu found its way into my trash barrel and sits right next to the inedible food that my money...
Read moreThe pizza crust was a very dry flavorless dough. It had a thick cracker consistency. It wasn’t a brown, Cooked crust that was juicy from tomato sauce or olive oil. It was beige. We ate most of each slice but even dunking it in olive oil to moisten it gave it no other flavor than good olive oil. The atmosphere? There’s SRO for 2 people. No counter or table or chair. Outside? Well, it was raining so. The girl at the counter was nice enough to explain why I went back in 20 min later like she said and we were Both amazed to find out my pizza order never went from the counter to 3 feet behind her to “the Kitchen” area to Start my pizza! After That wait, she told me it will be 10 min. Well, after THAT wait in the car, I come to find out that the Pizza oven was cooled down and had to be REHEATED to be brought up to cooking temperature, which took an ADDITIONAL 10 min. So I waited inside the small square next to another customer for 10 MORE min as I stood there the lady behind her Just put it in the oven. I stayed for that pizza because it was raining and late at night but NO discount on that 40 MINUTE pizza. Lol. Wow. And, it really wasn’t good. Nothing like bar pizza or D.Gar which All good pizza is like. Cooked well and juicy. Not dry and crumbly and QUITE tardy. I think if the counter girl was honest with me I would have just waited in the car instead of going in and out of my car twice and standing there for 15 or so min being cramped. I could have decided even to to leave to pursue dinner elsewhere. Maybe even a discount would have softened the crust and the wait time problems I couldn’t overlook. No I don’t recommend this pizzeria. There are Too many other better...
Read moreThis is a small hole in the wall pizzeria. Whoever owns this place - I really hope you compensate your cooks well or better yet, you are there roasting alongside them in the hot kitchen. They crank out quality food. I’ve been eating pizza from a handful of places in Weymouth and Leonardo’s a go-to place for me and my household. The one thing I would have people try to introduce people to the quality that Leonardo’s offer would be simple as the chicken finger bacon ranch pizza (I get diced tomatoes on mine).
It is not on the menu - there is an extension and expression of the staff - the Brazilian menu. Definitely try all of them out. Weymouth has a prominent Brazilian/Portuguese community, it is a great and...
