The most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. Ambiguous talking, double meaning potentials and most harmful is the unethical Business. Mr Singh and Taj Restaurant is a cheater and fraud. They disagree to receive credit card to avoid paying Tax and cheat customers with fault commitments. I will write detailed incident shortly. Please go to other restaurants that are ethical and does not do scam.
We booked “Catering” for a Lunch party. Not punctual – Arrived 45 mins late. Guests moved without lunch. Some of food item(s) even arrived more lately. Unclear communication– As per booking communication, “Food delivery” and “service” was not having any extra charge. During payment it was told conflicting. Unclear communication about serving spoons, once told to buy our own, then will be provided with charge or no charge was not clear. Process of leftover food hand over was communicated inversely prior to the party and after the party. Charged 10 people extra charge which is highly disappointing. Their person confirmed the total food served to 49 people before leaving the party while they took payment for 65 and 15 people extra food not given to us. 5% cash back in Credit card for restaurant in Q2 2016 was lost as the payment was not accepted by credit card by bank check. No receipt has been provided. Heard criticisms from guests about “Chicken Biriyani”. Never ever saw this dish with onion slices in it. It did not have any taste or flavor of Chicken biryani. Worst Chicken Biriyani ever had. One dish promised to serve in Tawa but the dish was...
Read moreI recently decided to try Taj Modern Indian Cuisine in Weymouth, Massachusetts, after searching for a unique spot. Unfortunately, my visit fell short of expectations.
I placed an online order at 4:30 PM, requesting a 6:30 PM pickup. When I arrived at the restaurant at the scheduled time, I was informed by the hostess that my food wasn’t ready. I ended up waiting until 7 PM before my order was finally handed to me. The hostess, while somewhat rude, was clearly overwhelmed—she seemed to be doing everything: hosting, waiting tables, running the register, bussing, answering phones, and taking orders. There were five other staff members who occasionally appeared outside the kitchen but didn’t seem to offer much help. To make matters worse, we could hear someone yelling from the kitchen, adding to the chaotic atmosphere.
I’ve read other reviews mentioning rude staff, and while the hostess was apologetic to the dine-in guests, it felt like those of us picking up orders were treated as afterthoughts. Typically, I can overlook poor service if the food is good, but that wasn’t the case here. By the time we got the food home, it was disappointing and below average.
With so many other great Indian restaurants in the area, I’d suggest passing on Taj Modern...
Read moreVerdict: This is the worst in the Quincy/Weymouth area.
Food: The food lacks flavor. That is hard thing to accomplish with Indian cuisine but that is what they have managed to do here. I think many of the positive reviews are written by non-Indian people who are not too familiar with the cuisine or perhaps it has gone down in quality recently. The buffet option has been permanently removed. That is a poor decision by a restaurant that is already struggling from a lack of customers.
Atmosphere: Cheap interior. You will be embarrassed to take a date here. The owners often have relatives or family members eating in main dining area who talk and eat extremely loudly. It is unpleasant to spent much time here.
Parking Hazard: The parking area has large pole in the middle which will completely destroy your car while you are backing out if you are not careful enough. I am not sure how the city has allowed it, but there are a lot of dumb things that go on...
