Sadly, it was our first time in, and we won't be back. The bagels were quite small and nothing like a New York bagel in terms of texture; we expected more from a place with "Brooklyn" in the name. They were out of eggs, so my partner asked if we could substitute double meat on our sandwiches instead, since we would be missing our eggs, and the girl behind the counter agreed.
We got our food after a surprisingly long wait (there was only one other customer in there, it's not like they were busy?), and they didn't give us a receipt, so we didn't even know how much we'd paid. The workers stood by the coffee carafe for a bit, discussing something quietly; it sounded like they were reluctant to, but ultimately poured us the final drops from the bottom of the pot because they were out of coffee. Sadly, it was weak and served at room temperature.
We asked for the receipt and after leaving, realized that they had charged us for the double meat on my partner's sandwich and I never got any additional meat substitution for the missing eggs, so we had an extra-expensive sandwich in addition to the fact that we both paid for missing ingredients. What a terrible experience for first-time customers. My sandwich was good, despite being small. My partner's was laughably bad. The sausage patty was pale and rubbery, and the sandwich was so tiny for $11. It makes you wonder how this place is in business. Not impressed with customer...
Read moreMy sandwich was made with absolutely no love or care. I went today and ordered the Juliana’s Fav which is supposed to be a hot sandwich. We took our food togo and when we got home we were grossed out by our cold, dry, and poorly made sandwich. For $15 this is a joke. I was sharing this sandwich with someone else and we were both so grossed out by the poor quality of meat, dryness of the bread, and the fact that it was cold and the only reason we ordered it was because it was on the hot sandwich menu. Not to mention The restaurant was completely empty during peak lunch hours while the businesses around it were full of guests. There were about 5 to 6 staff members in there standing around and hanging out, It seemed like an excessive amount of people to be working and making poorly made sandwiches. Will never return and do...
Read moreNow I’ve been here a few times and I will say the sandwiches are always made a little bit different depending on who is making them. Sometimes I feel duped with the lack of meat and cheese I receive on sandwiches but today was a great experience. I had the pastrami and Swiss as I always do and it came out absolutely perfect. The guy that made it had long hair and glasses and I think he said his name was Aesop. Really nice guy and he absolutely killed this sandwich in a good way. I would really love some more consistency, but other than that, the flavors are always good. I do, especially love the lemonade choices as well.
P.s. It’s also always super cold in the store so I typically have to sit at the window in the sun or wait to get home before I eat. Small detail but could make a...
