Illegal Pete's Gold's — Restaurant in Wheat Ridge

I came at 9:40 pm Friday night, waited five minutes for the customer in front of me to complete their conversation with the staff about some concert or something.

I ordered a quesadilla and waited 10+ minutes at a table, then 3 minutes near the register before being awkwardly asked what I wanted. I wanted my quesadilla, but they never started it. They offered to start it now but I was already late so I passed. This was a very disappointing experience in several ways.

Just a terrible waste of my time, zero respect for my time as a customer. If you can't serve customers after 9:30pm then maybe close the doors at 9:30pm. Please refund the quesadilla, but you can keep the $3 for the soda that I received after flagging down a staff member for it.

To be clear, the place had almost no customers and staff was completely checked out on service and instead wanted to clean. Cleaning is good, but ignoring customers, treating them awkwardly, and wasting their time is bad. There seemed to be fundamental priority mismatches that, honestly, I rarely ever see. You took my order, took my payment, and just completely ignored it for 15 minutes until I told you I needed my food. There is absolutely no scenario where this is acceptable.

If the GM doesn't believe me then check your cameras, check the timestamps, this was...

First. The place was so incredibly loud. Why didn't they add some insulation along the ceiling to dampen noise.

Then add the music is set to volume 10.

So when ordering my food the two guys at the counter seemed like they were whispering. I really think they were talking in a normal volume but between the atmosphere and the music level you can't hear them. They in turn also can't hear you.

I watched before and after my order and both sides keep asking the other to repeat themselves.

Then to the food. They scream out your order to find you but even with him screaming people couldn't hear the poor guy.

Finally get our food and it was just meh. Not bad not great. I have had better food at fast casual burrito places which is funny because I don't like chipotle at all, but honestly it tast better.

I can't see any reason to come back here. I love to support local but I not for meh food and an environment that makes me want to put on noise...

Locations and atmosphere is great. I don’t know what is going on the quesadillas though cause your crew didn’t get the memo that the star of the meal should be the cheese. There was literally almost no cheese in the one I ordered. Yes I added chicken but that doesn’t mean there should not be cheese I questioned if there was even cheese in it and saw a couple of pieces on one side. I went it to say something instead of resorting to writing a review without talking to someone, but they were too busy. So I don’t know - tell your staff quesadillas should have ample cheese. Really should never need to write a review that a quesadilla tasted like there is no cheese in it. Come on. And other reason I am leaving a review is because I went through all the Google reviews and it looks like quality control of appropriate amounts of food on meals outside of burritos is an issue. Managers talk to your staff. $13 for a quesadilla with a sprinkle of cheese...
