Casa Chapala's Grill — Restaurant in Wheeling Township

The food was great and the $1 taco deal has always been an amazing deal on Tuesdays. However I specifically ordered a side of guacamole and realized they charged me for a full appetizer at the end. Even after the server admitted it was her error, the owner’s argument to me was that “I ate it” so I should pay for the appetizer. While they still reimbursed me for the item, the process was met with several staff members stating to the owner “he ate it” in Spanish assuming that I didn’t speak Spanish fluently and understood what they were saying as a criticism towards a customer. How is a customer supposed to know what size your food items are and what prevents this from happening in the future to others? Why would a customer ever question what item was brought to the table? This kinds of error should not be on the uninformed customer whatsoever. The servers of this place have always been amazing and friendly, I was deeply disappointed at how the owners would not admit their mistake. I ended up tipping the server all the money marked on the bill because I appreciated her honesty, I just hope the owners actually gave her the tip. I went to Casa Chapala's Grill on a Tuesday to check out their $1 tacos, and even as a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised! The veggie tacos were so flavorful and filling, while my friends raved about their shrimp and steak tacos. The place was super busy, which shows how popular Taco Tuesday is, but the service was still fast and friendly.

The ambiance is kind of a mix—it's not exactly a fancy restaurant, more like a casual spot where you can either grab something quick or sit down for a meal. They even have a drive-thru, which is super convenient. When you dine in, they serve complimentary chips and salsa, and the salsas were delicious with a perfect spicy kick.

I also got the veggie burrito, and it was amazing! Packed with fresh veggies, beans, rice, and guac—it was super filling and flavorful. Definitely one of my favorites!

Love the food, best place around would have had 5 stars but had horrible service one day 4/9 when two women were working and the older one was "fighting" for each table and could not keep up with her current tables. She was clearly trying to get every table tips and did not want the other one to help. They argued in front of customers a few times. Our food was wrong the guy had to come get it replaced cause she was too busy "claiming tables" We never got checked on and just left as soon as we were done and paid at the counter did not even wait for the check. Wrost experiece. We told the guy at the counter and he said yeah soneone called off. Poor excuse. Other customers were irritated too as their food was wrong too.
