Been anticipating this trip for a while. If you live from around here, you'll find that Dunkin has pretty much monopolized the entire northwest suburbs with its sugar, air, and lack of taste (yeast donuts) which is pretty unfortunate.
Entering in, it's a classic dessert diner. There's plenty of space for a line of patrons between service and dining. The restaurant houses maybe 5-10 seats, and you can see the availability of their donuts from the front.
If you're sugar-pilled, you can grab the donuts with the chocolate icing on top. I had their creme-filled ones and found that I needed to tear the icing off. The cream is vanilla pudding, while the majority of their donuts are cake donuts.
If you're looking for a small textural change from grabbing bagels on the way home, check out Wheeling Donuts plain cake ones. Not too sweet, but can be plenty savory on the trip home. The top center donut in the photo is also a good all-rounder, especially if you want a certain crunch...

The donuts are soft and almost pillowy in texture, I think these are the softest donuts I've ever had in my life. The filled donuts have a good amount of filling, and the creme filled became an instant favorite for almost everyone. Every flavor we tried was really good, top picks so far for us are the creme filled, the raspberry filled, the blueberry cake donut, and the glazed donut. My sister and I also loved their cinnamon rolls.
Whenever we're visiting the area we will definitely be stopping here for our donut fix and to try more of the...
Read moreI have very high standards for donuts. I grew up near what I still think is the best donut place and assumed that all donuts were that incredible. I have been disappointed everywhere since except for Wheeling Donuts. The French cruller has an incredible open, melt-in-your-mouth texture. The glazed donut is a classic done perfectly. Both are the exact right amount of sweetness - not bland but not sickly sweet either. To top it all off the prices are incredibly reasonable (not that it would matter, we would still get these if there were $5 per). We...
