El Famous Burrito — Restaurant in Wheeling Township

*UPDATED 07/25/2020 As a family deicided to give El Famous another try. Food is delicious. Getting one star due to service. Lady taking order messed up again. We told that the order was wrong and she argued that that's what we order and them complain to the cooks about it. They were going back and forth as to who's fault was it. We were not looking for who's at fault just wanted our order right. Shame that they didn't even try to have it fix. Two tacos are not same as two sopes, two plain asada tacos are also not same as regular asada tacos for which we paid. You should start given receipts with order info so we can prove what we order, not just a plain number

Years back, this was one of the best places to go for lunch or dinner with the family. Food still good, the only issue I have is that for last few times I've been here by myself or with family, my order is messed up. I get one thing for another or getting charge for something different. I tend to repeat my order before paying now, just to confirm. The two ladies should be more friendly with customers. Food is good, service was extremely disappointing. I've eaten here frequently, and was always pleased. We had family visiting from out of town and were really excited to pick up dinner to treat our guests to our local spot. I placed an order online, received both a confirmation email and text, that my order would be ready in 15 minutes. We arrived after 30 minutes and were told they didn't even have the order. We showed them our confirmation email, and after searching further, they confirmed they received the order but it never was made. We then waited patiently for over 20 minutes for them to make the order. After receiving our order and after driving home, we found we were missing an order and a side. We verified on the printed receipt that they were both included and paid for. So, we drove back, pointed out the error, and they made the rest of the order. We kindly asked if there was anything they could do for the trouble and they bluntly told us no. Now, after an hour and a half total and an extra trip of gas, we finally were able to eat. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing visit and I will not be visiting again...

I ordered food through Uber Eats based on the restaurant's high ratings, both on the app and on Google. I have no idea how this place maintains anything above 4 stars. What I received was incredibly disappointing.

I ordered a chicken burrito, expecting a somewhat standard version—tortilla, chicken, beans, lettuce, cheese, maybe some rice. Instead, I got a soggy tortilla mess, drenched in a strange red sauce that made the whole thing look like a microwaved accident. There were no beans, no lettuce, no cheese—none of the basic ingredients you’d associate with a burrito.

The meat didn’t even resemble chicken. It looked like some questionable mix of two other meats ground together, and tasted just as unappealing. I’ve had plenty of burritos in my life, and this was absolutely not one.

This meal was unappetizing, bland, and borderline inedible. I couldn’t even finish it. I’m left wondering how so many people have given this place high ratings—are we eating at the same restaurant?
