Interesting in a good way. Bagels and cream cheeses are plentiful and flavorful. The reason for the “interesting in a good way” the food and flavors are there all the way. The service displays and process are a little off.
displays of bagels: NOPE! The bagels are in a display case however they are in non-see through white plastic tubs labeled by a label maker. I want to actually see what I am buying….I probably would have bought more if I could have seen them.
cream cheeses are stack in a cooler case away from the bagels. Again display them nearer each other and I would have bought more.
the inside signage is fancy but not clear or together. Just weird.
lastly why all the fried food (specials on the kitchen door.
I recommend this shop because the bagels were awesome. Just suggest they shop themselves ….In other words look at everything from a customer...
Read moreI come to Wheeling twice a year to visit my parents. We all enjoy bagels and cream cheese for breakfast, so I'll typically pick up a dozen bagels from Chicago Bagel and Bialy once while I'm here. They're usually decent, but overpriced.
Today was a different story. I got there and had to wait about 20 minutes to make my order. It's Christmas morning so that's understandable. However, what's not understandable was the quality of the bagels. The dozen bagels were BLATENTLY not fresh. They were at least a day old, if not older. They felt exactly like the stray bagel that's left out for a couple days. It's a shameful way to treat your customers, especially after charging over $30 for a dozen bagels and some cream cheese.
This will be the last time I ever give this place my business. I hope it was worth the money you earned today, because I'm certainly not the only one you...
Read moreThe bagel was absolutely delicious — thank you! That said, the place could really use a refresh. The ceiling has yellow stains, and the walls need repainting. The first thing you see when you walk in is a cluttered fridge and shelves packed with pastries, making it hard to even notice the bagels — which deserve a better display!
Coffee is great, but the stir sticks are too thin to actually stir, making sugar use less efficient. Please consider using small plastic spoons. Only two tables were clean when I came in, which is why I gave 3 stars for service.
Also, toppings on the bagel felt rushed — thick cucumber and tomato slices thrown on top. I don’t eat onions, but the tomato had a strong onion smell, probably from an unwashed knife.
With a few small changes, this place could really shine. Thanks again — I’ll come back...
