Came here after buying a dozen donuts next door. If you don't smell the sweet aroma from Wheeling Donuts, hoo boy. This place pretty much had me floating over after checking out the donuts.
The inside is very small. There's seating for maybe 10-20 people, but it's tight. If you haven't taken the booth seats, they have plastic dividers between the seats. Their breakfast, lunch and dinner menus surround the order altar, and the pricing wasn't too bad in this market.
I had a chicken burrito, which came with the complementary hot sauce and salsa verde. While some parts of the burrito didn't seem to be seasoned at all, the salsa verde was what hit the spot. The acidity and spice wasn't as strong as Hay Chihuahua in Lake Zurich, but from the amount, you can really adjust to your liking. Personally, I wanted to drink this if I had more.
I have a feeling that some ingredients in there went missing like the rice and the beans since I only tasted that at the end, but the portions to price were acceptable. The burrito's overall girthiness prompts for two...
Read moreFirst time eating at this restaurant. It's okay, the service was good our waitress was friendly. The service was a bit suspiciously fast.....the food was out super fast but the meat was cold. It felt like it was previously cooked and just reheated now I did say it felt I am not sure about this. I totally did not like their agua de horchata. The alpastor had good flavor but it was a bit dry and cold. The asada was a bit chewy and cold. The chorizo taco was really good. The sope was pretty good, it was soft and felt fresh. The beans were good too. They had no coctel de camaron even though it was on their menu. Now I did go on a Wednesday night 30 minutes before it closed so I dont know if this affected the quality of food. I would try it on a weekend maybe it's better...
Read moreWent to order a chicken burrito and server/owner offered either shredded chicken or grilled chicken. So I said grilled an no lettuce. Low and behold there was lettuce. The fountain drink I ordered was just about all water no syrup. And he knew too because I said this doesn't taste like pop. His response was yeah I kind of knew I had to change it. I was taken aback. If you knew then why serve it. Then I when I got home I looked at the receipt and he charged extra for the grilled chicken. Don't offer a choice and then not tell me it's extra! Tell me there is an uncharge and let me decide if I want it or not. The extra couple of bucks is not going to break me, but I would have been fine with regular shredded chicken....
