Panera Bread — Restaurant in Whitehall

During my second visit to Panera Bread, the establishment once again exceeded my expectations for what one might term "fast-casual dining."

If you have yet to take advantage of their mobile ordering system, I would wholeheartedly recommend it; it is both straightforward and efficient.

On this occasion, I opted for the BBQ sandwich and tomato soup combo, a selection that proved exceptionally satisfying. Despite my general aversion to tomato soup, I found myself enjoying every last drop, even using the perfectly-baked baguette to mop up the remnants.

The BBQ sandwich, too, was an impressive balance of texture and flavor—neither too mushy nor overly sauced. Although I initially became a patron of Panera Bread due to their much-acclaimed charged lemonades, this subsequent experience affirmed that there's more to relish here.

I placed an order for takeout food. The young lady at the counter where you order and pay was so kind and patient. She answered my questions with a smile on her face and didn't rush me as I made my selections. She smiled, laughed and was very pleasant. She is a great first impression. Waiting for your order is another experience. Waited a long time to pick up my order. The staff behind the prep counter were concerned with completing the phoned-in orders; and ignored the growing line of customers waiting inside. My items were thrown in a brown bag hurriedly so my soup leaked (an room temperature), and my Mediterranean bowl was on its side. Bowl only had 3 olives! Someone behind this counter got butter that I requested, and then, apologized for...

I have gone to many Panera’s but this one has been the worst. I did a rapid pick up order. I got a salad with extra dressing and a bag of the chips. When I got home there was no extra dressing and the cup that it came with wasn’t even half way full. I also didn’t get my chips. The funny part is they gave me a spoon and a knife to eat my salad. Also while ordering online I saw that the soup I wanted wasn’t available so while waiting for the pick up order I went to the counter to ask and they didn’t seem enthusiastic to wait on me. It just seemed like they were getting ready to close and didn’t want to be bothered with the orders. I went in over an hour before they closed. I won’t be going here again since I’m not getting things I paid for...
