Ivy's Cafe — Restaurant in Whiteville

Found this gem by accident when returning from the beach. Atmosphere is awesome. Very clean with a lot of space, TVs everywhere you look, a pool table, and a jukebox you can control with a phone app. The best part is their food! Fresh cut fries, sweet potato fries, and breaded fries were all excellent. The wings with Yo Mama sauce were up there with the best wings we have ever had. Large juicy and crispy on the outside. All of our meals were reasonably priced with large portions and delicious. Family of 5 ate for under 70.00. My mom said that she would br willing to drive 2+ hours from Charlotte to Ivys for the wings and sweet potato fries! The staff was friendly and attentive as well. This place is less than a mile off of highway 74 in Whiteville. There is nearly every chain fast food place at this exit but do yourself a solid and go to Ivys. You will be happy that you did.

Service was poor. This was my 3rd time going to this restaurant & two of my friends first time. Everyone was dissatisfied. Waitress was unprofessional; talked very little to us and with an attitude but when 2 white women came in her whole attitude changed. Most of the food was nasty except crab bites, spinach dip, & Oreo pie. Philly cheese steak mushrooms, onions, & peppers were blacker than black asphalt. Sandwich tasted burnt. Owner stated this is the way he has been sautéing them for 18 years. He did not offer to replace the sandwich. He was very unfriendly & unprofessional. My friends said he and his waitress seemed prejudice in which it appeared. One of my friends handed him her debit card and when he returned it he laid the debit card, pen, and receipt on the counter for her to sign. Very long wait time on appetizers & food. Worst experience ever and we definitely will not be returning or recommending it to anyone....

If you’re starving and looking for a good place to eat this is NOT it. My friends and I are all servers and the staff was very friendly and the vibe was cool and cute, but the food was horrendous. Mozzarella sticks had literally no cheese in them???? I ordered chili cheese fries which were fine until I found an entire chicken tender in them. The hamburger was so completely awful, I couldn’t even eat it. My sister ordered a Philly cheese steak that was on a hamburger bun and disgusting. Wings were almost not edible. Chicken pasta salad tasted like old hamburger helper. I hope they start taking their menu more seriously and pay more attention to what they’re plating. *I did tip my server well, I know it was not...
