San Jose Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Whiteville

I walked into this establishment hopeful, and that hope was lived up to! Walking through the door you are greeted with a payment area for take out and a small reception desk for seating, I was seated within 5 minutes of coming in. Me and a friend were given drinks again within 5 minutes and allowed ample time to pick from the menu, during this time we were given some homemade looking tortilla chips, they came with a normal and mild sauce. The mild sauce was quite scrumptious but the normal had a weird taste neither of us were fond of. We were given drink replenishements as soon as we finished what we had, along with only a 10 minute wait for our food. We ordered nachos with chicken cheese dip, mixed fajita and a burrito I don't remember the name of. The nachos and dip were close to my favorite part of the meal, the fajita was a little over cooked and plain BUT the rice was absolute heaven. I've never had rice so amazing before! Moving on to the burrito, it was quite good as well and alot better seasoned. I don't have too many complaints about the meal. Used to be a nice place to eat but now everybody here is just racist when we walked in they stared like they never seen black people before and when the manager came he was JUST OK at first but then when he came to serve us food and they got my mom’s order wrong he snatched the plate back and hit my fiancé with it when he went to move it and then slammed it down on the back table with an attitude don’t get mad because your coworkers made a mistake in the kitchen he also tried double charging me because he thought my card had insufficient funds and that my card was locked no I sent to my card what was needed which was $89 and some change and the food and services most definitely wasn’t worth $89 more like $5 I’m assuming the guy was a manager talked to an employee named Austin like he was slow in the head or something he wasn’t very professional all around his attitude and actions were very childish we will never come back he had such a hateful personality didn’t even apologize for hurting my fiancé elbow he almost...

Husband and I dinned on Sunday around 12:30. The place was not packed and appeared to have plenty of tables available; however, we were seated at a table by the bar/kitchen. We ordered and service was fairly fast but there were no utensils. Had to wait a while for a waitperson to appear so that we could request some. When arrived, we were very surprised to see we were given a plastic fork and knife. Surprised because the food came on a large stoneware platter. The young lady brought the bill and I noticed there was a charge for ice tea and mountain dew - we both ordered water! When the waitress appeared I pointed it out and she did correct it.
