The worst restaurant experience I've ever had. My boyfriend and I had just gotten off work and decided we wanted to try this place out. The hostess was sweet and promptly sat us at a booth. There wasn't many people at the time, 4 other tables other than us. A girl who was in training came and asked us what we'd like to drink and she brought them to us. We thought she was our server, she informed us that she wasn't but she'd tell our server what we wanted as an appetizer. The appetizer came out at 10 minutes which is normal for any restaurant (I've been waiting tables for 10 years). Our empty plates from the appetizer sat there for 15 minutes before our server (Christina) came to take our order for our actual entrees, our drinks were empty by this time. She took our order and the table behind us order. Then got us more soda but left the empty plates. Finally 15 minutes after she had taken our order she came and asked if she can remove the dirty plate from our table. Why do you need to ask to take empty plates, which were stacked with trash and placed by the edge, from the table? It's common sense. A total of 26 minutes from the time we ordered our entrees we finally got our food. The chicken breast on my pasta was extremely salty, and my boyfriend's calzone was still partly cold. We sat there waiting for our server to come check on us. 10 minutes later, she was dropping food off at the table behind us, I waived her down and told her my boyfriend's food was cold. She snatched the plate and took it to the manager. She came back a few minutes later and said they are remaking it for him. I said thank you and asked if it would take another 25 minutes. Her response was "uhhh yes" as if it was a dumb question to ask. She never apologized or anything about the food. 10 minutes later, by this time my food was cold, and we were growing more irritated and our server was no where to be found. I asked another server (Danielle) if she could get me a togo box for my food and just have my boyfriend's food boxed up so we could leave. I boxed my food and placed my plate on the end of the table with trash and napkins on it and Danielle's trainer ( I didn't catch her name, she was the sweet girl who got us our drinks) came by and grabbed them for us without hesitation. A few minutes later Christina drops my boyfriend's food and the check off with us. We get up to pay so we can leave and I had asked to speak to the manager and when he came over Christina kept trying to be apart of the conversation and I politely said I just needed to speak to the manager, I had to say it twice. I nicely asked the manager "why did it take 26 minutes for our entrees to come out of it only took you 10 minutes to remake it when something was wrong?" He replied "I had the cook put a rush on it" he took $2.98 off our $29 check. I thanked him for the discount, I wasn't wanting it or expecting it. I gave the trainee a tip because she did more for us than Christina did. But why on earth, when it's not busy, would an entree take 26 minutes??! You should always have a rush on food in order to get the customer fed and so your servers can flip their tables and make more money. As a server, I know, it shouldn't be that long, certainly not for what we ordered, had it been fried food I would of been more understanding. If We ever decided to go back, I'd make sure Danielle was my server, or get...
Read moreI would not normally give Marchello’s a one-star rating because they’re food is delicious and until tonight we’ve had amazing service, but when my boyfriend and I went there tonight we had the worst service we’ve ever had there. My boyfriend has been going to this place since it’s opened and we love going and supporting locally owned businesses. Tonight I ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich which comes with pasta salad as the side, I asked if I could have a side caesar salad instead and was flat out told no and that i’d have to order a full price dinner salad to get that or I could just have chips. she did not try to give me what I asked for and it said one the menu you could substitute a tossed salad but had no details. a caesar salad is lettuce, cheese and dressing and was told it wasn’t possible to get it. then, my boyfriend got a salad from the salad bar and there were no tomatoes or black olives on it like usual so he asked for some and they said no to the tomatoes and gave him a few half pieces of olives, and when he asked for more because they’re his favorite he was given attitude. then we asked for to-go boxes and lids for the plastic ramekins for his salad dressing and they said they didn’t have any but they had the smaller ones so he asked for a couple extra to fit it all and they wouldn’t. then asking for a to-go cup for our soda they said it’d be $1.99 even though the soda was $2.19 and we hadn’t gotten a refill or anything and we’ve taken to-go cups home many times and never have been charged and that would’ve made one single soda $4! that’s crazy. our waitress was Elizabeth and she was not very helpful and did not try to help us with our questions and made our dinner not an enjoyable experience to where we couldn’t even finish our food there was and on top of that she talked about us with another waitress while I could see them which is highly unprofessional and disrespectful. I’ve been in the service industry a long time and have a lot of patience in restaurants but tonight I felt mistreated and those may sound like small things to some but in my eyes, they could’ve been super easy fixes with super easy solutions that would’ve led to happy customers and employees but instead i’m leaving a terrible review because it...
Read moreFood is decent, especially for the price, but the service was atrocious. We visited Marchellos on a Saturday afternoon, around 2:30. There were maybe 2 other tables in the entire restaurant. We decided to take my Aunt there for her birthday so we brought a cake with us. My 3 year old is a VERY picky eater so on the way we picked up a lunchable for him. As we were waiting, and we waited quite a while before we were even greeted, the first thing she said to us was that we had to take the lunchable out of the restaurant due to a health hazard. I can see how they could possibly want us to take it out because we should be purchasing food from them which we no problem doing. But no, they stated it was due to a health hazard. I'm not familiar with health violations but the lunchable is sealed. I tried to explain that he is a very picky eater and she was extremely rude and cut us off before we even had a chance to explain. We agreed and took the lunchable to the car. We should have left at this point but didn't want to completely ruin my aunts birthday lunch. Everything from there continued to decline. She was just so unpleasant and rude the entire time we couldn't enjoy anything. She barely checked on the table and we I had to physically get up to get more water. When she saw me get up she then asked if she could help me with something. I explained that my sisters dr. Pepper was flat and I needed more water. She ripped the cup out of my hand and said she would bring it to me. Everything about the experience was awful. We are saddened because Marchellos WAS one of our favorite restaurants. We will NOT...
