I cook a lot of BBQ at home, so I’m almost always disappointed in something when I eat at a BBQ restaurant. The portions are almost ALWAYS fit for a 4 year old child, & BBQ is not cheap anywhere you go. I found this place reading reviews & I chose it specifically because people said it looked sort of old, dirty, & needs remodeling. Perfect. My kind of BBQ joint. Nicer national chain BBQ places pretty much always suck. (Not mentioning any names here...Rib Crib...) Food was very good. Good sized portions. I added 2 extra ribs to a 2 meat dinner, & I ended up taking those 2 home because I was full. Two meat meal (I chose ribs & brisket) came with a good sized pile of chopped brisket, two large good-lookin spareribs, two sides & 3 slices of lightly toasted bread. I think it was right around $14.00. These were not skimpy little back ribs. These were nice, full-sized (not St. Louis cut, although I like my spares both ways...) very long, thick & meaty spareribs. Excellent. Beans & potato salad were very good also. I was hungry, & I still took home about half of this meal. The men behind the counter were very helpful & friendly. I said I needed a minute to look because I hadn’t been there before, & the gentleman was very helpful in explaining each meal or choice on the board so I had a good idea what was available. I told them both it was great, and the cook said “We cook everything the old fashioned way...I haven’t changed anything in 33 years. Thank you very much! We’re glad you came in!” I will...

Needs consistency in flavor, quantity and quality. One day it'll be the best BBQ I've ever had then the next it'll have no flavor. Portion size varies as well as what comes with it. One trip we chose what we wanted but the next trip we were told we only had a choice with the sides. I made 3 orders and they were put in 2 baskets so I'm fairly certain I never got my extra order plus there were no leftovers between 2 people. The flavor was like it was pressure cooked then they forgot to smoke it. It was bland. $16 for the sampler is a decent price unless they give a tiny portion like the last visit. It came with 4 ribs, ham, turkey & 1 hot link. The sampler we got the trip previously was excellent but we chose what we wanted. Brisket, ribs, pork & ham and large portions. The cook polished it off with seasoned salt which was a delightful surprise. The taste was amazing. We had so much food that there was leftovers and a strong desire to go there again and tell everyone about it. We went back but was utterly disappointed. Going back is kinda on the back burner now due to inconsistencies. I'll try it a few more times before I make my final decision. Last trip was very disappointing. And the person freaking about the food being cooked outside, where else would you cook BBQ? Cook it inside and you'll be dead from the toxic effects. Flies? OMG. I bet you're a hoot at...

Weve heard many good things about this place but my experience was TERRIBLE!!! My bf walk in to get my food 15 min after We ordered and they hadn't even started on my sides yet. While Hes waiting He hears someone in the kitchen coughing, so looked up and notice that no ones wearing a mask. He look a little closer and realized he was standing right next to our food! He asked: Him: You guys don't have masks back there Owner- i been coughing for 60 yrs I'm bot gonna start wearing a mask now! Needless to say We left without my food.
