A Cozy, Creative Gem in Wichita

We had such a delightful experience at The Coop on Douglas. We ordered a latte flight with oat milk, an oat milk latte, and a peach smoothie. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can truly taste the care that goes into each drink.

The location is charming, set in a beautiful older three-story home that’s conveniently located near both downtown and College Hill. It has a welcoming, cozy atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease.

Our barista was wonderful. They were rocking fairy ears, a lovely green dress, small horns, and a piercing. Their energy was as magical as their look. I really appreciate that The Coop allows employees to express themselves fully and authentically. It made the whole experience feel even more inviting and inclusive.

Each floor had its own personality. There was a cute shop on the first floor, fun games on the second, and a super kid-friendly space on the third with mini chairs and activities for younger children. We also enjoyed the interactive “Where’s Waldo” passport activity, which added a fun and whimsical touch.

First, I called beforehand to ask about seating and if it's accommodating to kids, and was told there's toys for kids/toddlers and we can sit in a room that's private. Great! We get there and it's not set up like described, but it's cute for small groups or couples. Second, we were sitting waiting for our food and one of the workers barges into our room, yells at us to place our orders because other customers were waiting to be seated (Half of us had already ordered online and other half at the window), and it was off putting/aggressive since we were simply sitting waiting for our orders to be ready to eat. We had no idea when our food would be ready since were told it was a long wait time. We weren't even waiting that long before we were barked out to make an order we already had. It was completely unnecessary and screamed they just wanted to get the POCs out of their establishment. Thrilled to have my favorite coffee spot outside of Wichita finally arrive IN Wichita! I've brought buddies for hoard games, kids for Christmas get togethers in the large resevable rooms and enjoyed a coffee with a pal more than a time or two. The Coop always makes my beverage precisely the way I like it and they never act like I'm pretentious or fussy for being so specific with my drinks! Endlessly patient and lovely with an atmosphere of community and collaboration.
