This place is weird and so are the employees. I went in around 4 pm once so I wasn't surprised to see the donuts didn't look their best, but I noticed they had a few trays left and there weren't many flavors; again, not surprised, my fault, I'm here at 4 pm. The man was nice enough, I'm not fussy, got 6 donuts. They were not good. I was expecting they wouldn't be fresh, but they were just kinda bland. Whatever.
Needed donuts recently for a last minute surprise party and saw this place was open at 4 am, as well as Noa's, but Noa's only takes cash. It was 3:30am so instead of sleeping 2 hours, I'd grab the donuts and sleep after, be home in case my daughter woke up, to surprise her.
Got there at 3:40, waited in my car, went to the gas station nearby, came back, waited in my car.. both times I saw a lady wearing an apron (assuming it's an employee), sitting outside, with a couple donut boxes. I didn't want to bother her before her shift so I just waited. I heard her speaking to someone in a other parked car, in (I believe) Spanish. I'm pretty sure, I speak Spanish, but my windows were up. But I also don't like to assume.
So I waited till 4:02, but no lights came on, so stepped out of my car, waved and said, "Hey, good morning, you open at 4 right?". She just stared at me for like 4 seconds (which is too long imo), and put up her hand āļø š . LOL!..Confused, bc I didnt know if I didnt hear something she said, I asked, "sorry?" š¦». She said āļø š. Leaves her hand up there too long. Now, finally understanding she's not quiet, she's rude, I said, "You open at 5??". She nods šš. Idk why that made me so mad, I was tired, hungry, I needed my kid's fav dessert, and oh yeah..the stinking online info says they open at 4 am, that's why I drove here right now. It only states 5am on Sundays and this was a Thursday. So I said, "It says 4 am online." She shook her head and puts her hand up again. Very irritating, I know you're not mute, I just heard you talking to someone, what is this behavior? You're not paid to speak to customers before 5 am? So rude.
I left, I'm not going to ever go back there and anytime donuts come up, I'm gonna tell this story bc it's funnier in person. So I drove to Haysville, managed to scavenge enough change from my car to get 1 dz. Donuts plus an apple fritter from Noa's less than $11, plus they were nice there and they were actually open at 4 am. Got home in time to sleep a few hours and surprise my baby. To be honest, I didn't try any donuts, the children devoured them, and I put the apple fritter in the fridge, but it was still good cold. I will be giving Noa's another go when im not in a rush - but...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen coming here for a long time, some of the best donuts in town. Customer service is middle of the road at best, they staff a lot of young people who don't communicate clearly and obviously aren't experienced with the non-donut side of their menu. I will be giving them a break for a good long while since they royally screwed up a sandwich order recently. I called to complain and instead of being gracious and apologize for the mistake, the owner/manager proceeded to lecture me on what what is/isn't on various sandwiches and kept talking over me. A warning for all to be painfully clear about what you want, otherwise they will argue with you about it to not take responsibility for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my favorite donut shop in Wichita. It's been at this location for years. It has a small area for tables and chairs, but the main attraction is the best and most fresh donuts in town. I went in this day and had maple bars and chocolate bars. So soft and fresh!!! The chocolate bar was still warm when I bought them. The employees are the best and nicest you'll find around. Great service and it can get busy at times. They also have a tip jar by the registered. I always put something into the jar because I appreciate the hardwork and commitment they show. If you need donuts don't go anywhere else. The freshest and best...
