Our experience started off excellent. They set up our table for us before we even entered the restaurant. We were a party of 5 just rode up from Phoenix and heading to Vulture City and grabbing breakfast before heading down the road. We ordered breakfast, then after the guys noticed what looked like a condiment bar and the staff told them that it was menudo. The 3 guys decided that they'll each try a bowl. They did and decided it wasn't that good and didn't even finish each of their bowls. We are ready to leave and get the checks to discover that it was actually an all you can eat Menudo bar that cost $18!!!!!! The guys were all upset because they didn't tell them that up front. They simply told us that it was on the menu even though the menus were all taken away by that point and if we would have asked for a sample it wouldn't have costed that much. One of our guys that doesn't really eat breakfast and only ordered a $6 taco and water to drink now had to pay $25 for just him!!!! So, in total they charged our whole party an extra $54 that we never planned to spend. For that rude behavior, we all left NO TIP. And for that reason we simply will NOT be back for not being honest about it especially for apparently being a Christian owner. What would Jesus really have done in that situation??? I'm sure not overcharge your customers so they'll never return. They could have just charged us for...
Read moreWe've been to Lydia's and many a times but this time it took over 30 minutes to get the food the waitress didn't pay attention to anyone and she was running around when she really didn't have a whole lot of people in there to deal with you couldn't even get her attention. She didn't listen to the customers and what they ordered so when something needed to be changed you couldn't get to her and then they were going to charge us if we ate it even just a bite of it which I thought was ridiculous because if they didn't put chicken in something that you ordered you shouldn't have to pay for it unless they're going to remake it for you so my husband didn't get to eat because of them. They were good and they've just gone downhill there's no customer service it's just really bad. It ruined it for us cuz we like I said used to go there all the time now I will not be going...
Read moreI was in Wickenburg in March with a friend and had breakfast twice there. The machaca and eggs were 5 stars.
I was in Wickenburg again last week (Nov. 1) with my wife and wanted to treat her to a nice Mexican dinner so I took her there. As before, the service was great but both of us were disappointed with the food. My wife had a taco and cheese enchilada and the taco shells were like the store bought pre-made type. She said Taco Bell would have been better and at 1/3 the price. The cheese enchilada however was tasty. I had my favorite Mexican dish of a chili relleno and it was the worst I have ever had. It was really small with very little cheese inside and the batter on the chili was doughy. And again, their prices are a tad high.
I don’t know if it was a bad day for the cook or not. But I’m afraid I will be searching for another Mexican restaurant...
