Joey's Avenue Eatery — Restaurant in Wickliffe

Have you ever wanted to like a restaurant but they repeatedly let you down? This is that place for me, I've been here 3 times and they just don't have good customer service. The first time I brought my wife for breakfast. There was an older Red head standing behind the register talking on the phone. While waiting in front of the sign that says "please wait to be seated" she continued to ignore us. I figured it wasn't her job to help us maybe she was a cook or something needed to make a phone call. Finally I asked a waitress if we should just seat ourselves and she said yes. We thought the food was good and then it was time to pay... Well there was no one at the register and we waited for awhile until a man rang us up. Even though the service was not the best my wife and I enjoyed the food so we decided we'd give Joey's another try. On to visit number 2 this time I came to breakfast alone and was again waiting to be seated and the same older red head at the register was standing there ignoring me. Hmmm strange well a younger red head(vary nice and a waitress) greeted me and sat me at a table. While there I ordered coffee and water. As the waitress went to get them I went to the restroom. When I came back to my table another person was being seated at my table and being given my coffee and water. So now I was moved to a different table and area. While there no one came to bring me my coffee or water not even a menu. So after about 5 minutes the waitress came and asked if I needed a menu. She brings it along with coffee and water. I ordered a western omelet. While eating the omelet something is off about it I just can't put my finger on it. Then while I hear the waitress taking another order I here them order the same omelet and she asks "what kind of cheese?" BINGO my omelet doesn't have cheese! She didn't ask me what cheese I figured all omelets have cheese. So I finished and when I the register. Same old red head standing there ignored again then after about 5 minutes she cashes me out. 3rd time visiting was for lunch. I still think this customer service is just a freak accident and they're going to be better so we stop by for lunch. Same old red head watching us stand at the wait to be seated sign. After a few minutes she seats us. We ordered hamburgers everyone's different. I asked for mustard it never came. Our drinks were never refilled and when we checked out instead of ringing our ticket. The old red head watched us walk up to the register she was standing at and proceeded to turn around and go into the kitchen. We waited and eventually a young waitress cashed us out. I wanted to like Joey's but man their customer service...

Very nice took my mom and aunt for mothers day food was very good. Nice size portions got the beef tips on top of mashed potatoes and corn brown gravy and melted cheddar cheese it was very delicious and filling i split some with my mom and she got Ruben which she split with me was very delicious and very generous with corned beef just right amount of kraut and 2 peice of Swiss cheese and amazing batter fries very different and very delicious also my dinner came with a 1 trip up to the soup salad bar it was all very fresh. Our waitress was very nice she was good she didn't clear the plates and we asked her 2 times what kind of pie and she lays the check and goes i ll be right back. It got a little busy and for like a solid 7to8 mins she was nowhere to be found finally comes back find out only have lemon merengue pie and spumoni and mint chocolate chip i order the mint chocolate chip i say can I get that in a 2go cup and she didnt acknowledge that I said that by this time another 6to7 mins passed and I was a little annoyed my aunt and mom had already went outside and I paid up front still was not back yet with ice cream and I couldn't wait for her to bring it and tell her to put in togo cup so i just walked out she came out and was very nice and your ice cream and she said you wanted ice cream and she said hold on and went and put it in 2go cup and brought it back quickly. I don't want to be to hard on her. She seemed like she was distracted from what dont know so i hope im not being to much on her cuz she seemed to care she just would not acknowledge twice and kinda forget about us. I hope everything is ok and she was just a little off today. Other than that lovey time with mom and my aunt. Check it out if you live out in Eastlake drive by it every day and never been or if your out and about check then out or you read my review....

I was really looking forward to eating here. All of the positive reviews really made me think maybe I finally found a family restaurant that is actually still decent. I couldn't have been more wrong. The sign when coming in says "Hot Corned Beef" and that was great because I was already thinking about ordering the Reuben. It came out and was nowhere near the correct temperature. Now I have read many of the Google reviews and pay special attention to the negative reviews because they mirror my experience exactly. Our waitress Lisa when I mentioned that the Reuben was cold had an attitude. My guess is she is the same waitress that others have mentioned in their reviews. Okay she had 30 tables, but so what does that mean our table becomes invisible? She never came back to ask how the food was. She refilled one of our friend's water one time and asked our other friend if they would like a refill. Me and my friend were never asked. Then she kept disappearing and maybe that was because of her other tables, but what about us? When she finally reappeared she mentioned that three of the people who had ordered entrees got a free dessert, but didn't ask if anyone else would care for a dessert. When my friend asked about the desserts the waitress Lisa was very dismissive. We waited and went across the street to Jerry's Dari-Pride. From now on when I am in the area hankering for "Hot Corned Beef" or a gyro I'll go to Freshly's, which never disappoints and is happy to serve you and takes actual pride...
