Booked our wedding cake and cupcakes with her and months after booking I texted the final flavors we were choosing (like she asked us too). She replied back âoh Iâve been scared to tell you, but my bf booked me a vacation the week of your wedding so Iâm not doing it anymoreâ. Not only did she cancel as a vendor, but she knew for who knows how long and didnât tell us. Itâs the not telling us the day she knew she wasnât available that is the issue with us. Not how you run a business. Donât recommend you booking a special occasion with her cause she might not bake your cake and doesnât have the guts to tell you. I will say we didnât have a contract, so that is half on us for me not enforcing we sign a contract. But I didnât ever get married and wasnât sure bakers did contracts cause I did ask about a contract and deposit. The baker we actually got I made do 2 copies of a contract. So yes she didnât break contract, but still rude as can be and a stress this bride didnât need.
Edit- since I canât respond to your response. I figured Iâd edit and add it here. When you tell us âall set canât wait to work with youâ and we say âcan we leave a depositâ and you say you âdonât do deposits but wrote it in your calendar for pickup of Friday and text me in 2 months for your finalized flavorsâ thatâs not âtentatively agreeingâ. If you said âitâs too early I donât book 8 months outâ we wouldâve understood, but you didnât. And also, texting me mad you got a bad review when you did exactly what I said you did- also super unprofessional. All engaged couples, just avoid this bakery as an option all together. Extremely disappointed to pay $275 for a cake that wasnt even what we had wanted. And on top of that the cake tasted like a box cake. I do not recommend these guys.

And you had asked to meet to discuss what I had wanted however my schedule did not have any time for it. You were the one who had suggested that I email you what I wanted to ensure i got what i was looking for. Your bad communication skills should not be your customers issue. I only told you how many people which was 30 not 20 because you kept asking. At that point if you were going to take it upon yourself to totally change what was ordered you should have called first.
