Hartman Jerk Center — Restaurant in Wilkes-Barre

I drove an hour to come get some food that was out of the ordinary, where i live, theres really only pizza and wings and hoagies and chinese and that gets old fast. I did a quick search for food and found this little place, I had never had jamaican food before, but I decided that I was gonna try it, so I picked up my brother and we made the drive. It took an hour drive to get there and found out theres no dine in, and I'd have to drive back with my food for another hour. I ordered the Oxtail with white rice and cabbage, and a side order of plantains, and everything, I mean EVERYTHING was amazing. The Little Ol' Lady that made the food clearly put her heart and soul and love into her cooking because every single bite I ate of that food was immaculate, flavorful, and so well prepared I felt guilty that I didnt have to pay more for my meal. Honest to goodness, 10/10 worth the drive, worth the time it took standing in line, worth the drive back, the food from this place didnt just nourish my body, it made me feel like there was nothing wrong in the world the whole time I was enjoying my food. So good, cant tell you enough how good it is, I really cant....

I love hartmans when we moved from NJ to throop my only requirements for myself when house shopping was being within a half hour of a good jamaican spot. I was not disappointed the last few years I was very much a regular enjoying there food the great vibe inside an lovely convos with the owner. I had heath issues so it had been a while ,but before I had surgery I needed my fav food. I was greated with such a warm family feeling that I remembered. The food possible better than I remembered or I just missed it that much . I stocked up coco bread, jerk chicken ,curry chicken, stewed chicken. My favorites and always amazing i Ate some and froze some for after surgery . The frozen dishes heated up perfectly 🥰 my only regret is I didn't buy more . You can not go wrong with hartmans the food is great the prices amazing,good portions. If you like to cook they sell jaimacan grocery items and again they also offer frozen dishes that heat up amazing.just as good as what they serve in restaurant Certainly helping me heal quick . I love hartmand there food ,and the family that owned Highly recommend I believe they have a food cart...

Me and my friend ordered almost $80 worth of food ox tail dinners to be exact..now I have a history with this place and my first experience was a no!!! Stop calling that authentic Jamaican food it is not‼️you use frozen beef Pattie’s and never have coco bread‼️‼️but 5 years later you have done nothing to improve that kitchen or the chef.. I’m personally gonna bring you a plate.. of good food and stop using all that brown sauce it leaves an after taste 🤮.. here’s a tip fire the chef.. or call Gordon Ramsey P.s ya food spoils overnight so that tells me it’s pre cooked and frozen.. not even fresh.. .. respectfully you really just lied I can show you videos on my instagram proving your feed back a lie‼️‼️I dare you.. I could have posted the food but I tried to save you grace because folks still eat there.. you precook your food and continuously reheat that’s why it spoils quickly .. nothing authentic but the name.. I tried 5 years ago and tried it again not an ounce of improvement.. be honest .. and fire whoever in...
