As people, we need to make a stand when things just arent up to par with our own personal standards. I am writing this because I feel the need to let people know about how bad this restaurant is - and it has only just opened within the past two weeks. This may be a franchise organization but you would never know it by visiting this particular restaurant.
This is the WORST Checkers restaurant I have ever been to. Don't get me wrong, I love Checkers Food but not from this location. This location is new and looks nice from afar as well as the inside but the service and food is TERRIBLE. Like others have reviewed, I, also, found the food SERVICE just as bad. The food is served luke warm - and that's if you bother to wait long enough to get it.
I went there for lunch today for a simple fish sandwich and chocolate shake. The lobby had a number of people who were obviously waiting for their orders as well. Without adequate room to stand in line, I was skipped several times. When I finally was able to order my simple meal, it took the workers (who were obviously new - and it showed) almost 20 minutes to assemble my food and drink. I waited less time for my breakfast order to be placed AND served to me at Bob Evans.
The management should be ashamed of themselves for remaining open when there was so much more training that needed to be done. There was no consistency or "Teamwork" present at this location. The small lobby area was littered with trash. All in all, I counted 6 workers in the back area who were supposed to be making sandwiches or what-not but were more interested in laughing it up than making sure the customers meals were getting made. Sitting in the lobby area, there were other customers, like myself, who were appalled at the chaos that was taking place at this restaurant.
Maybe one day (a long time from now) when the management and workers get their act together, I will return to see if they have improved but, until then, I URGE others to stay away from the checkers at THIS location. You will get less than deserved service and mediocre food served luke warm.
Good Luck to all who read this and Happy 60+ Hours of TRAINING to all those who work at the Checker's located at 1901 W 4th St.,...

I visited this location on 3/19/22 around 1:30 a.m. I was waiting inline roughly 23 mins in the drive-thru nearly in the road. (Hoping I didn't get rear ended) After sitting that amount of time the line slowly moved.
I get to the intercom about to place a order, and was told (with a nasty attitude) that they were only taking delivery orders. This was more than FRUSTRATING, WHY WAS THEIR NOT A SIGN IN PLACE ENTERING THE DRIVE-THRU FROM THE ROAD WAY ON THE BUILDING? After sitting that long, I was stuck (didn't place a order) in line not able to back up nor exit in any other direction. This Is very poor architectural design.
This isn't the only incident at this location, I visited a while back when checkers was promoting the boneless chicken wings. So I placed a order for them, amongst a few other items. When I received my order; I noticed that thier was a spot at the bottom of the bag. I proceed to drive off. I get about two blocks away before checking my order, About half of the wings were in the BAG not the box. I had to go back and place another order.
No wonder why the location on 40th & Market Street is boarded up. An addition to workers whipping hamburger buns on the floor and serving them. (Year's ago It was on the news)

Read moreUpdate: decided to give them another go since I was in the area. While the young lady at the counter seemed more interested in what was going on with her phone, eventually someone noticed me at the counter and took my order. This time, everything was on point. Food was fantastic. Will definitely return now. Especially for those fries!
Second trip back: arrived when they first opened in the morning. Everything was on point. The fries were a little lackluster, but they were the first fries of the morning and the shortening was just getting heated up. Burger was delicious and right now they're running a promotion of two pies for $1. The outside of the pie was all brown sugar and warm spices and nice hot apple filling. Get you some of these, they're absolutely delightful.
Was not aware of the long hours that this place is open. 4 am on a weeknight? 6 am on a weekend?! Nice place to grab munchies if you want something at 3 AM and nobody...
