Specifically said that I wanted a certain dish with no vegetables after explaining that I drove 2 hours from out of state to go out to eat at Indochine on market Street, I got the dish 15 minutes later full of onions.. when I explained to the not so pleasant girl that works as a cashier here for the second time that I could not eat it she actually opened the dish up and used the lid and dug around through the noodles in the bowl and said "I don't know... I don't see any onions..." She asked me if I wanted them to remake it and when I said no she attempted to hand it back to me!! that's when I politely explained to her to please take the credit for that dish and apply it to the new dish that I was ordering that had no vegetables in it.. she acted very confused she was very a knowledgeable about all of the dishes there! After waiting about 20 minutes for a very simple dish I told her that I wanted to get some of the cheesecake that they had in the cooler up front and she explained to me that they were all homemade I said well that's fine but I need one that's fresh, she went on to tell me that they are made daily and that they are taken in and out by staff and checked on hourly.. I asked her about the chocolate dessert that was on the top that had no name and she had absolutely what it was because she does not eat chocolate... WHAT?? This was an absolutely horrible experience! worst part is when I got home the food was completely awful they gave me a bowl full of fried eggs and cashew nuts with a few pieces of chicken I would have taken a picture of it but I was so angry I threw it out going down I-40 but I did keep the dessert but to no surprise when I got home to eat it I noticed it tasted a little sour, I looked on the bottom and it was prepared and set out on 119-21! I will definitely not be returning to this place ever again!! I cannot speak for the other restaurant, the one on market Street that is if it is you and you have to sacrifice the time between they're open and close, wait! a few hours to wait for the actual restaurant to open as far better than having to experience what I did today. I'm super upset more so I am really...
Read moreI put my order in using their online order form which I probably wouldn't use again. I ordered a bowl of shrimp ramen and a slice of cake. The pick up time they gave me was 6:45. I put my order in at about 5:30. I just assumed they were busy, since it is a Saturday. The wait time wasn't a problem for me. The issue is that when I got there at 6:30 my food was already ready. Had I waited until 6:45 it would have just been sitting out for 15 minutes on top of however long it had already been sitting out. It wasn't very busy when I got there (1 table of 4 eating and 1 table of 4 ordering and 1 guy picking up food in front of me) anyway, IF I would order from here again I'd either call in or order there so a real person could give me a better estimate. The computer can't be trusted and who knows how long your food will be sitting before you get there. As for the food: there was a TON of lettuce in my ramen. I've never seen lettuce in ramen before and there was enough to make a side salad out of it. It was really disgusting in the soup. Over all flavor of the soup was ok but kind of lacking and the noodle to broth ratio is way off. Maybe put more noodles and no lettuce. Seriously. I'm still confused by the lettuce. It was really gross. They did put a nice amount of shrimp in it, which was I appreciated because some places just put 3 or 4 pieces and that's all you get. The coconut cake was good. Nothing amazing. I'm not sure if the people raving about the cake in other reviews have just never had coconut cake before, but this wasn't anything special that knocked my socks off. It was pretty similar to what you can get at Harris teeter but you'd pay half the price. In conclusion I paid almost $25 (including a tip) for a weird bowl of soup that had lettuce in it and a slice of cake that I could have gotten at the grocery store. Not impressed. I had been excited about this meal all week and it was a pretty big...
Read moreA few years ago I used to love this place. Like I was addicted. Then one day upon eating pho I discovered a fingernail in my soup.
I am not joking. It stabbed the top of my mouth. I showed it to my family. I was not mistaken, it was a huge dirty fingernail. My husband said it looked like a toe nail. We couldn’t believe it.
I called the restaurant and told them I had found a fingernail my soup. They didn’t seem too alarmed which was a little concerning. They offered to remake my pho and didn’t even bother to refund.
I passed. In fact, it took me a long time before I ever wanted pho again. Everyone teased me about it for several weeks but really it was gross. I even stopped eating out altogether for a while over it. I put it out of mind, thought someone just lost it while they were chopping vegetables and moved on with my life.
Fast forward to now nearly two years later. I’m not feeling well and decided some pho would make me feel better. Surely things have gotten better since then. But to say that it was underwhelming is an understatement. The broth tasted like sweet sorta beef flavored water. It was terrible, I was so disappointed.
The Pad Thai was good however so I’m giving a couple stars for that. But I would HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere for pho unless you catch them on a good day. I’ve had better broth from...
