JAY’S INCREDIBLE PIZZA I had the very good fortune of finding a great ,local pizza place yesterday. In a little strip center at the intersection of College and 17th Street, I saw a small sign for “Jay’s Incredible Pizza”. I wondered if it was the same Jay that I had meet on one of my many visits to another area pizza restaurant. Incredibly, it was! Jay, the new owner, of this once forlorn pizza place has been on the Wilmington, and New York, pizza scene for years. Jay knows pizza and is producing an impressive variety of excellent pizzas in his shop. He has only had his restaurant for three months and is working hard, and successfully, to breathe new life into a once dying restaurant. I ordered two pizzas from Jay and they were both excellent. The crust was uniquely flavored and very tasty and the topping were generous and high quality. Jay bakes his pizzas the old way, in a hot shelf, Blodgett Pizza Oven. Most of these ovens have been replaced by conveyor ovens. However, if you want to produce a great baked, tasty crust with gooey melted cheese and cooked toppings, the Blodgett Oven is the only way to go. Jay knows that and is producing his pizzas the old way, and the right way. Jay’s Incredible Pizza menu is extensive and exciting. He has a nice assortment of appetizers, including wings, and a variety of specialty pizzas that are unique to his shop. Here’s the real find. Jay’s Incredible Pizza offers Deep Dish Pizzas! Jay brought a terrific recipe with him from New York and is the only pizza place I have found that offers a deep dish product. I will be back to try this hard to find pizza, Jay sources all his high-quality ingredients from a local distributor which is as it should be. We all should support our local businesses. Currently, Jay’s Incredible Pizza offers pick-up and delivery. However, Jay is working on an outdoor seating area for the shop. Jay’s is open 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM daily.: I walked into this shop and was immediately reminded of a pizza place I visited as a kid. Jay’s Incredible Pizza has the nostalgic feel of a neighbor pizza place. This ambiance really adds to the excellence the entire menu has to offer. I recommend that you try this restaurant the next time you crave a truly excellent pizza.

Read moreThis was my first time trying pizza from this location and I'm so happy I did. I ordered a small white pizza so cannot give a review of their sauce but I plan on ordering more pizza from here so will update soon. Anyway, the white pizza was delicious. Just the right amount of toppings, no skimping but not overloaded either. The crust was delicious. The toppings all seemed fresh and flavorful. Im from Ohio and it seems like it's always hard to find good pizza in the south. We have lived in Charleston SC, Huntsville AL, Charlotte NC and Nashville TN and we have always struggled to find decent pizza in any of those places. We have been here a year and this is the first pizza I tried that I would reorder. Actually, I ❤️ NY Sicilian pizza slice was really good too but other than that pizza out here is average at best. Like at this point my husband thinks he just doesnt like pizza because every place we have had it has been bad. He wasnt home when i ordered from here so i will have to order again so he can realize he does like pizza, just not bad pizza. This review kind of got off track so in conclusion...delicious crust, perfect toppings, great flavor. Will be back.
Update...after eating here a few more times it was still my favorite pizza until last night. It's been a little while since I've been back and I'm pretty sure they've changed things. The crust wasn't good, it was dry and bland and I didn't even eat it, when before it was my favorite part. And either the cheese or sauce has changed (or both) because it was super salty to where I was chugging water after eating my piece. Definitely disappointed this time around. I'll try it again because it could just bee an off day. I did try the tiramisu it was delicious. I'm not even really a tiramisu fan, probably because so many places have bad tiramisu, but this one I...
Read moreMy wife and I usually order from Antonio's but they put me on hold and I was on hold for about 5 minutes so I knew they were busy so I heard about Jay's Incredible Pizza from my brother and he said he was going to try it one time, so I decided to give it a try myself. I ordered Friday night the 18th and I was very impressed with the delivery time and the pizza looked great! I even took a picture of it and texted it to my wife. I ordered it with 4 toppings, pepperoni, sausage jalapeños and green peppers. It was hot and looked fresh, but I need to be honest and I told them it was my first time ordering, but it really lacked flavor. There was hardly any sauce, each piece of my 18" pie had only 2 pieces of pepperoni, one or two pieces of green pepper, one or maybe 2 jalapeños and maybe 1 or 2 small crumbles of sausage. Hardly any toppings, hardly any flavor and the crust was lightly browned on the bottom but wasn't crispy at all like pizza crust! I have pictures on my phone.....it looks pretty good, but it didn't even come close to Antonio's, Elizabeth's, Michaelangelos, Frank's, Vitos, Pizza Hut, etc. Maybe more sauce, more toppings and cook your crust a little more, I don't know, but the service was great. It was $32 for the 18" pie with 4 toppings and I left a $5 tip to the driver, so it wasn't cheap either. Sorry for the poor review but I want to be honest as I've lived here 24 years and eat at a lot of...
