First thing I am going to say is, you better come with an apatite, because the portions are gigantic!
I've been told I need to review Mrs. Robino's Restaurant for a while now, between friends and messages, and finally got around to it.
I was immediately greeted with a warm feeling as soon as I walked in the door, very welcoming and pleasant, which told me I have been missing out for a while.
I wasn't sure what I wanted, so a couple of the staff asked what I like, and they suggested I get the Tour of Italy, so I said why not.
I placed an order to go, and talked to the owner and her son about other things, next thing I knew, my order was ready, very fast!
I grabbed my order and it was heavy, very heavy, like it was a more than I ordered, but no, it was a single container and a bag with fresh bread.
Drove to the park so I could sit down and do a thorough review , and boy was I blown away!
The cheese ravioli was perfect, firm and flavorful, not overcooked, same with the meat ravioli. The spaghetti was firm (al dente), just the way I like it, and the sauce was simple, not overdone with too much seasoning, just right!
The sweet Italian sausage was on point, and so was the meatball, and before I knew it, I was full, completely, and 2/3 of what I ordered was still in the container š²
The price was a lot less than I expected for the amount of food that I got, and I was told that to go orders were smaller than if I had sat down, which I unheard of these days, and I can honestly say that if I didn't know better, they thought of their customers as family.
I HIGHLY recommend Mrs. Robino's Restaurant if you want a great Italian meal for a great price!

Five stars, only because that's all Google allows, otherwise this restaurant...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not typically the type of person to leave reviews, especially negative ones. However given the circumstances I have to give my warning. I am a lover of Italian trattorias and restaurants, and given the photos and previous reviews of Mrs. Robinoās, I was very inclined to visit. Upon entering, me and my wife were greeted by the very kind front of house staff. We ordered the special appetizer of the night , arancini. It was obvious that these were plucked from the freezer and tossed in a fryer to warm because they were still cold in the middle. Our entrees, chicken parm with penne and penne with vodka sauce, were incredibly disappointing. The chicken was akin to a perdue chicken patty (burned) with American cheese on top, with the penne being cooked to the point of disintegration. Iāve seen reviews calling the sauce āgravyā which is actually hilarious because you can taste the tinniness from the can. You can hardly tell itās been cooked at all. The vodka sauce was watery (?) and lacked flavor, though it was probably the best thing we ate. Upon paying the $95 bill (including one carafe of house wine and tip), we made our exit and were greeted by the oppressive smell of mold and mildew. I do not want to bash a family restaurant because frankly these types of Italian joints are a dying breed, but to offer this low of quality product and be consistently REWARDED for it while charging a premium is absurd. I am absolutely baffled by the overwhelmingly positive reviews when this restaurant has not even cracked my top 5 of Italian restaurants in this city. This restaurant is selling you the idea of a classic Italian restaurant. Save your money and go to...
Read moreI was really excited to try Italian food at the oldest Italian restaurant in Delaware. I had never been to Wilmington and don't expect I'll be back any time soon, only because we're not from the area. Looking from the outside, the décor suggests its age, and the inside doesn't disappoint either, but in a gaudy, trashy kind of way. Rather than highlight the historic value of this place, the inside looks run down with cheap decorative appointments, something akin to an inner city eatery without the bars on the window. There are TVs in the restaurant dining area, which was distracting for what would seem to be a nice sit-down dinner, and our waitress couldn't tell us a thing about the history of the restaurant. The food was on par with the décor. The bread served at the table was plain old boring white loaf bread that had a funny taste and smell to it. I ordered bruschetta, thinking they kept the good stuff for the appetizers. Again I was disappointed as it was the same bread, simply toasted, and served with a small bowl of diced tomatoes that were more astringent than flavorful. I asked the waitress if I should get the "best pizza in the world" (the name of a menu item) because I wanted pizza. She literally told me it was just a cheese pizza and "not that good." So much for that glowing endorsement! But like a fool, I decided to up the ante, and ordered a pepperoni pizza. Not a good decision. The "crust" was soft and mushy and flopped as soon as you lifted it so that the cheese and pepperoni could slide right off. The sauce and cheese were bland and boring. From the staff, to the décor, to the food, there is nothing authentically Italian about...
