Wendy's — Restaurant in Wilmington

I'm officially done with this location and possibly all Wendy's. We were originally planning to go to the Arbys next door but forgot our coupons. We came into the location and it was clear that the AC was not functioning in the dining area. We should have left then. At some point in the meal my kids ran out of juice so we decided to go up front and request a cup of water. They were obviously understaffed or no one cared. It was taking the lady manning the register forever. She would take an order, wait for the back to make it, then serve it. As oppose to taking several orders and filling them in an overlapping fashion. While my kids and I wait to simply ask for water a customer checked their to-go meal and found that a sandwich was incorrect. He pointed it out to the lady at the counter and asked if they would just remake the sandwich. She took it back and asked the folks working the line for a new burger. A young "lady" working the line got a huge attitude; she began swearing and such. Keep in mind I'm standing right there with a 5 and 7 year old. She angrily hands a new sandwich to the lady running the register and makes a remark. Something like "if he don't like this one he can go the H on". He overhears the comment and asks "what did she say?" The lady at the register in an attempt to diffuse everything says "oh nothing she didn't say anything". He asks for a manager. She then gets another lady that was standing right next to the girl with the attitude to come talk to the guy. I'm not convinced that was the manager because I saw an older gentleman in the back in what appeared to be an office. After nearly 10 minutes we finally got our water. I won't be going back to this location.

**update: after a post on Twitter Wendy's responded asking me to dm them. I did....they never replied back. Says a lot...

Decided to stop at the Wendy's at 1650 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington NC as its on my way home and had a great experience 2 weeks ago trying the new loaded "NOT CHO" (nacho) chicken sandwich. So wanted to have it again, and first thing at the drive through was told to wait from A female.....and it was a wait...then a male told me he'd take my order whenever I was ready. So yes ordered the infamous sandwich as a combo. Was told no lids for cups except small. Suggested to give me 2 small drinks. Acknowledged, then proceeded to 2nd window and was asked what my order was, then gave me the amount to be owed. Handed him a $20.00. Asked me if I had 3 cents. Then handed me back my change and 6 cents. Ummm, so tell me if that makes any sense. Was handed food. Fries were fresh but sandwich looked like it was thrown together. Mind you I also asked for no tomatoes and repeated it when asked again at window. Tomato on sandwich and missing the spicy corn and tortilla strips. Was very disappointed, but was too tired to circle back as there were 4 cars behind me. Now originally it was just me in drive through until I had to wait several minutes.

My last visit was during the week after 11pm. This current visit was also after 11pm but on a Friday. You could clearly differentiate between the age group of the employees during the shift days, which is not a good thing as lack of experience or care in preparing the food is noticed. Usually go during the day time when service is a tad bit better. Today when through drive thru with my family and was treated terribly when attempting to order. Initially there was a young guy speaking taking our order then a very loud disrespectful girl come with all this attitude. We asked how much something was and her response was, “what you can see you can’t read?” That was very disrespectful to customers. First of all I didn’t ask for the attitude. 2nd I’m in a car with disabled elders which is not even important and I shouldn’t have to mention their demographics for her to be respectful and polite!! I told her you don’t have to be mean and nasty she yelled out, “no I’m not no I’m not” like she’s a kid or something but either way she was very childish and if she wanted to play games then go back to high school for that because this is the real world and you should know how to behave unless it’s a light bulb missing or she didn’t receive any kind of teaching from her parents at a young age. I also noticed there’s lots of terrible reviews for this location and no manager or GM has responded once to anyone and that’s really upsetting that they do not care what kind of reviews they receive at their establishment.
