(4.5 stars) Capacious, comfortable, and convenient, Wrightsville Beach Brewery made for an ideal back-from-the-beach lunch destination. There was plenty of seating inside and out (we opted for the latter), and service was friendly and attentive. The biggest draw here, however, is the menu as both food and drink selections are strong. The former packs everything from burgers to seafood to some rather creative pizzas (a short rib, a crab cake, and a po boy were among the offerings) while the latter offers up a nice assortment of house taps and a few cocktails. My wife and I opted for an order of fish tacos (tuna was the catch du jour) and a shrimp po boy with a cup of seafood stew. What the fish tacos lacked in structural integrity, they made up for in fresh flavor with the rasta sauce delivering a bit of peppery kick. The seafood stew brought a welcome bit of heat as well. Tasty as it was though, it was less a seafood stew and more a kicked-up tomato vegetable soup with a bit of added seafood. The po boy, on the other hand, was immensely satisfying from first bite to last. Here, they didn’t skimp on the shrimp, which were breaded nicely, and the crisp baguette (improbably) held everything in place. Among the drinks, my wife gave high praise to a newly-arrived Smoked Honey Scotch Ale while the Orange Krush Kolsch tastes like the offspring of an orange creamsicle and a dry seltzer. The house ginger soda packs a (welcome) punch. With a reasonable price point for local fish (each lunch entrée was $13), amicable service, and boldly flavored food, Wrightsville Beach Brewery impressed across the board. If I’m ever back here, I will be curious to see how the pizzas (or the shrimp and grits, for that matter) measure up.

Great brewery and restaurant overall. The owners are actually fishermen and therefore bring in the freshest and local fish. This should be standard (fresh local fish) but of course it is not for all local restaurants. They do a brunch menu on the weekend. Be warned. We did not know and they were out of eggs by the time we arrived (late afternoon). It did not change the quality of the food it was still good but one of the people we were with suggested the brewery because he wanted crab cakes. Settled for the crab cake pizza. They have a large number of brews on tap and always have a few special brews which are just a single keg worth. If you live close I suggest you stop by on the regular to try them. If you love it expect to pay the brewery price but what they are doing to expand brewing is worth the cost most of the time. I would keep the rating a strong 4. It is upscale bar food and great micro brews but seems on the high end for price. It is a great treat seeing as it was our first visit and we live over an hour away. Will come back for sure.

So pleasantly surprised at this new addition to the Wilmington food scene! I went at 11:30 on a Sunday, first ones there - got a great table by the giant window! The manager told me that the owner believes in leaving a zero footprint - so when they cleared the lot he had all the trees repurposed into the gorgeous pecan tables, and the beautiful bar. He positioned the brewery to save some of the giant live oaks too. I was impressed Edith all of that and the cleanliness of the building. The wait staff was great. I wanted the creamy seafood chowder- but they were out of it; so I tried the tomatoe based fish soup - it was very tasty, I will have to go back for the chowder. My friend tried Kentucky Hot Brown and I tried Chicken Mornay Sandwich both were great; full of flavor and plenty of food for two meals. We don't drink beer so I can't tell you about beer - but the parking is great- there is inside and outside seating and on a beautiful Chamber of Commerce type day can't be beat. Give it a try.

Walking into Wrightsville Beach Brewery feels like stumbling onto the set of a hospitality fairytale. The staff don’t just serve you—they practically adopt you. I swear one server looked at me with such kindness I half expected them to tuck me in for a nap after my oysters.

And let me tell you about those oysters… they weren’t just oysters, they were divine little pearls of ocean magic. Each one tasted like Poseidon himself whispered “you deserve this” before handing it over. I actually considered writing a thank-you card to the Atlantic Ocean.

Then came the beers. Oh, the beers. If Willy Wonka had brewed beer instead of chocolate, this is what his factory would have looked like. Stouts, IPAs, lagers, sours—the sheer variety nearly sent me into an existential crisis because I wanted all of them at once. And every single one? Incredible.

But really, what makes this place special isn’t just the food or the drinks—it’s the people. The staff radiate this pure, effortless kindness that makes you feel like you’ve been coming there for years, even if it’s your first time. In a world full of rushed service and blank stares, Wrightsville Beach Brewery reminds you that hospitality is an art form.

In conclusion: if you don’t go here, you’re making a terrible mistake. I’m so glad this place exists—without it, I might just lose faith in humanity,...

We hosted an engagement party for my sister in law this weekend at the Wrightsville Beach Brewery! The event space was perfect! Between the beautiful floors, wooden barrels, natural wood tables and cool art work we did minimal decorating and received so many compliments from those attending! The food was incredible and very reasonably priced! We opted for a appetizer style menu and it was like a full buffet! The team there ensured there was plenty for all! Budget was a priority for us and Sara our event coordinator was readily on hand to help me every step during the process! She made great suggestions and was extremely detailed so I was left with no questions on how the night would be as it related to food and bar consumption. She allowed me to customize the bar to my needs and our guest thoroughly enjoyed the selections. A huge thank you to both Sara and Ashleigh who serviced us during the event! Our friends and family commented on how attentive and friendly they both were. I greatly appreciated the service both Ashleigh and Sara provided! Be sure to ask for them if you are hosting an event at the WBB. They will ensure it is an amazing one so you can enjoy the party too! Thank you Ashleigh and Sara for a fantastic evening we all will have great memories of!...
