Treat Yo' Self Bakery — Restaurant in Wilson

As a cake decorator and baker myself I was so excited to come here and meet the owner and his staff because I watch his TikToks and loved how much energy and high spirits he had and I look up to him as a bakery and cake decorator but im questioning that after today because I had the worse customer service here today which sucks because I actually was excited to visit this bakery due to it being in my home town and seeing how big it was on TikTok and as soon as I walked in the energy was wayyyy off the young lady that was helping me and my siblings didn’t greet us when we walked in we had to greeted her she had a nasty demeanor about herself and she had her face frowned up as if we disgusted her my sister asked her we’re they hiring because I am a cake decorator and I had made a comment before entering the building like “I would love to work somewhere like this and make cakes “ and when ny sister asked she immediately said no which we didn’t make a issue about but the way she look at us with disgust or as if we didn’t belong there the entire time we was there was very upsetting and it completely that really threw me off and made me feel very unwelcomed and uncomfortable to the point where two of my siblings that was also with me said they didn’t want anything from there because of how unwelcoming it was so me and my other sister proceed to shop and still buy something and she just short answered us gave us a cold shoulder the entire time we was in there as if she really didn’t want to assist us I even cracked a few jokes to lighten the mood and she still gave off a unwelcoming vibe to us I don’t know if it was because of the color of our skin or what because the way they was staring and looking at us from the time we came in to the time we left out was as if we didn’t belong there at all my grandmother who was also with us and getting a coffee from there even said she was uncomfortable she was first talking to another young lady who works there asking her about the coffee and she stood there and just look at her as if she was confused as to why my grandmother was talking to her and proceeded to walk off so a gentleman came and assisted my grandmother and he was the ONLY person who was actually was polite and kind to us which is the same gentleman who complimented one my cakes I tired to show him and the lady who was assisting me and he was the only one who actually looked at it and gave feed back and said it was beautiful while the same young lady that was unwelcoming the entire time just glanced at it and did a eye roll and just stood there waiting for me to pay and leave so after paying and proceeding to leave the gentleman was the only one who said have a good day and show good customer service while the lady took my payment just walked off without saying a word and as a person who make cakes and work for a bakery and assist customers everyday I was so disappointed at the poor customer service I was given while shopping I could never be so unwelcoming or unpleasant to any of my customers I treat all my customers with the same respect I would like to be given no matter the color ,shape or size they are I treat everyone with. Love and respect and make them feel as welcome and important as they are I will never come here and shop again with the type of energy and customer service me and my family was given...

My experience with them left a bad taste in my mouth. I needed a regular cake. I already had ordered a tres leches wedding cake. So, I wanted to make sure that both families get to enjoy whatever cake. I called and asked if they would be able to make a small tiered cake. The guy that answered the phone checked with his boss/supervisor first, and said yea we can make a small wedding cake for you. He told me to come in so we can pick out the flavors for the cake. So, I come in. There's that same guy I usually see. I told him that I was here to talk about my wedding cake. He says "we are no longer taking any wedding cake orders". I reminded him of the call, and he had to talk to the boss. The boss said it was fine to take my cake. Now, you would think the kid would at least try to be enthusiastic. Instead he seemed in a hurry to get rid of me. It did not feel like I was placing an order for my wedding cake. I was the only person there at the time. The cake turned out fine. However, the service/attitude was terrible. It was a real turn off. I'm glad that I got a wonderful service from Tienda El Diamante (ward blvd). They were attentive, and they made it so pretty (It's the purple one in the wedding picture). Sorry for the long rant. I can't say that I do or do not recommend their services. I know I aint coming back to them.

8/28/21 4.8/5 I took off .2 points. I went that morning to pick up some cupcakes for a friend's special occasion. I got a dozen so I got 4 different kinds. I got the brownie cheesecake, regular chocolate, cannoli and churro. I was looking forward in tasting the brownie cheesecake cupcake but it tasked like a regular chocolate cupcake. I could not detect any brownie or cheesecake flavoring, neither could the other people who tried it. I was a bit disappointed. The other cupcakes were great according to the guests. The staff was helpful and friendly!

4/10/21 Wow! I can't believe I never tried this bakery before. I was looking for a birthday cake for my father, and once I saw Treat Yo' Self's menu, I said I must try one of their cakes. I went with the chocolate covered strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting. Ooooh, it was so yummy. My family loved it! They're used to the tres leches cake so I was worried they might not like it lol It was also an easy experience to place an order through the phone. The young man was patient and helpful. When I went inside to pick up the cake, it's nice inside. The workers were cheerful and helpful. I would definitely come to try their other goodies, and I also would highly recommend others to try their cakes! You won't regret it. It's worth the money!

02/26/22 Got some of the February cupcakes for my family’s celebration party. Everyone enjoyed it. They really liked the Girl Scout and the fruity pebbles. I liked the strawberry one.

This is now my go to place to get something that puts me back in my right mind. This place makes you glad again that you're an adult and no one can tell you "No"! Let me explain why only 4 stars instead of 5. First, I walk in and didn't notice a lot of customers. Not unusual as everything is locked down with no one out. The associate was helping a customer and right away I could see the goodness in the display. What especially drew my attention was a nice piece of multilayer cake, Cameral Apple Cake Slice. This cake was a nice soft cake, several layers, I can only think it was covered in a tasty layer of buttercream, caramelized apples throughout the layers. While writing this review I wanted more but was shocked to find that they have different cake slices available and no guarantee of when or if the cake would be on display again. If you wanted it specifically then you can only get it by purchasing a full cake and it would be available in three days. I just ordered my cake and will pick up in three days because I had to admit, it's a great tasting cake. They do offer other great items like cupcakes and cookies. They even offer a cookie sandwich and I even had them make a different sandwich cookie. They try to to give you just what you want and all with a smile. There is so much to offer that I could have easily got something other than the cake but I wanted that particular cake. I'm sure anyone can find something great around the bakery. I originally went to look for croissants and found so much more. I highly recommend them to satisfy your sweet tooth but you may spend a lot more to get the...
