Kent Pizza — Restaurant in Winchester

February 2023 - As I wrote in my last posted review, doing chores due to the first snowfall since late November here, we decided to have a good time in the process and stopped at DD's for coffee and a bite, and then agreed to head to Kent's for a takeout pizza to bring home for later. Love Kent's Pizza. Always reliable. My go-to place since moving to this area quite a while ago now, but with so much exceptional pizza available throughout Connecticut it's impossible to only frequent one place. Each restaurant has something uniquely special about their pizza, whether it's the oven, cooking method, region, dough, crust, toppings or sauce.

There is a lot more seating at Kent's than I think people realize as there are three dining rooms which were all updated a year ago or so. Staff was putting together a large order for an event when we grabbed ours. Another fine pizza with hamburger, sausage and green pepper was made in the twenty minutes they gave us for pick up time. Hot and delicious.

Excellent pizza serving this area for a long time. Great party sized pizza that doesn't need to be pre-ordered a day ahead. Casual dining with pastas, calzones, grinders, wraps, appetizers, salads and desserts. Wine and beer...

Last week my family got together to celebrate a birthday. We ordered a party pizza for takeout. As we were eating my granddaughter came and asked if she could have another piece of pizza. Her mom gave her one and she started to walk away and then turned around with a strange look on her face and as she put it on the counter she said that she didn't want it because there was a bug on it. I picked up her plate and almost gagged. I was done eating but when her mom saw it she ran to the garbage and spit out the pizza she was eating. We were all horrified. My son immediately called this business and told them what we found. They said the manager wasn't in but they would call us back. It wasn't long when they called back and offered to refund our money. Then they said they were having problems with the company they got their boxes from. Okay only this bug didn't come from the box. It was clearly baked into the pizza. All I can say is they have lost our business. And I'm not sure when my granddaughter will even want to eat pizza again. This was so disgusting. If roaches or other bugs in your food don't bother you then go for it. We are so turned off by this place we definitely will...

Ordered two pizzas at 6:28 and was told 20 minutes. We arrived around 6:50 and were told it'd be a couple minutes which isn't a big deal.

Finally at 7:06 the pizzas were given to us and we complained that their time estimates were extremely off as the pizzas were completed after 40 minutes not 20. One of the workers became angry and told us that it hadn't even been 40 minutes it had been 38 after looking our order up. The reason for the delay was that he had burned our first pizza, but he neglected to inform us of this which probably would have made everything ok. Instead he said that next time he would just give us a burned pizza. We informed him that there wouldn't be a next time which resulted in him giving us even more of an attitude.

To make matters worse, the pizza that had been done in time was now sitting out for 20 minutes (18...sorry). Even if this pizza turns out to be amazing, the abhorrent customer service will keep me from returning. A little politeness and apology rather than belligerence would have been...
