This thai restaurant does not attract attention from the location its tucked away in. In a discreet corner on Nellis and D.I. you will find Maya Thai. The inside of the restaurant has been complete redone. A very warm and welcoming dining area. I ordered by phone right when they opened and my food was done in about 10 min which is how long I took to get there from my place. When I got home, I was pleased to see that they had taken the time to write on every box to easily identify which dish was which. The second thing I noticed was the portions, or lack there of. From experiences with other Thai restaurants, Maya served me about 2/3rds less food than most places. Though the dishes were good, it was small portions. Let's start with the crispy rolls. Those were fresh and crispy and served with a nice dipping sauce. The beef jerky for me was a little too crispy. My wife and I were debating if the meat was deep fried or if it's dehydrated. That's how dry the texture is. Good but dry. Next was the papaya salad. This was disappointed a bit. The flavor was good but the portion was very, very small. And the papaya salad had 3 literal shrimp. I would expect more if I'm paying over 10 dollars for this. The green curry was good, nothing special here. The shrimp pad Thai was decent, nice flavors and a very nice heat. The reason for my score was mainly due to price. Overall the food was a definite 4 but due to the current economy and the sizing of my plates and how much I paid, I feel like I could've got more bang...

I chose a higher rated Thai restaurant but it was only open for evenings and late night dining (a quick search will take you there). I got a tab over $60 for a salad, appetizer, soup, and yellow curry (see receipt attached). The “special “ was Crab Fried Rice. When I asked what kind of crab the answer was “fresh”, but he couldn’t tell me what kind of crab it was. Makes me question my order of the soft shell crab appetizer. I left zero tip because it was take out, I asked for the appetizer to enjoy there while the rest was prepared, but it was in the to go bag. I wasn’t offered anything: water, tea, Thai iced tea, and forget about cold beer, not served here. (it was over 109 degrees in near record heat). The heat scale for food was 1 to 10. I asked for 8 on the curry, 7 on the soup, and 4 on the salad so I could cool off with some veggies. The curry was 3, the soup was 2 and the salad was 7. I ordered the seafood combo soup. The menu says shrimp, scallops, fish, muscles, and more. I got one piece of shrimp, and the rest was chicken and beef. Good flavor, but not what I ordered. If you need to get out of the heat in Las Vegas, don’t gamble, and don't care what the waiter brings then this is your place! Otherwise go get what you ordered and enjoy. Please check my other reviews on Google as they have nearly a million views and I rarely put someone down for missing the...

Hidden gem on the northeast side! Service is fast. Worker was friendly. Food was marvelous! I tried the Tom kha soup for lunch, and the portion was far more large than expected. I tried the soft tofu as my soup protein, and the chunks were also huge. It had yummy mushroom, tomato, fresh cilantro, and of course the perfect flavors of coconut milk, ginger, fresh lemongrass, and scallions. For dinner, I tried the basil fried rice with soft tofu, chicken satay with peanut sauce, and spring rolls. I’m picky about spring rolls, so I won’t comment there. (Not bad, just didn’t stand out to me. They were crunchy on the outside and cooked well.) Now, the chicken satay was flavorful and tender! Marinated for sure. The peanut sauce was perfectly sweet, and you could tell it was made fresh in house. The little cucumber salad on the side was also sweet and tangy. A perfect partner to the chicken on a stick. “What about the basil fried rice,” you ask? Every bite of grain was permeated with the fresh and delicious flavor of basil. Not like other places where the rice is flavorless and the only time you get basil flavor is when biting into leaf. 10000/10 recommend this place overall. When I went, it wasn’t crowded. Plenty of free parking on the lot. There are cameras recording out front too for safety. I look forward to going back and trying something else. Well done, Maya Thai!

Maybe good for more Western taste buds? Where pad thai is a dish to get? Price wise it's cheaper than many Thai and Laos around. Dishes are $13.95ish vs all $15-$16.95+. Menu includes fusion options (like many places in Vegas). Thai spicy of 1-10. If youre a mild person, then 2-3 might be for you. Not for us but maybe good for the area? Staff is super nice. Papaya Salad $11.95. Thai style, level 1 spicy because the seeds are usually pretty spicy. Wasn't spicy at all. It was okay. Drunken Noodle $13.95. Pork, level 2 spicy. This was overly sweet. Wasn't spicy at all. It was more mushy than expected. Spicy Catfish $15.95. Level 2 spicy. It felt like level 2 spicy. It looks like orange chicken sauce but it's not the same taste. Overly drenched sauce. I would not recognize this as a Thai catfish dish. Maybe Laos or westernized version? Crispy pork with Chinese Broccoli (comes with rice) $16.95. Level 2 spicy. Wasn't spicy at all. Also drenched and overly salty. Crispy pork was a little stale. What's not for us, doesn't mean its not for others.
