I was looking for a place for breakfast ( being new to the area) and was told Blondies was the place to go.... Sadly, I didn't feel in the end the same way. One of the main reasons I am only giving a 2 out of five stars are these two reasons: 1)Service :I got there about 9am this past Friday and was writing in my work ledger, when the first interaction I had with anyone, was the waitress ( whom I was told was one of the owners) sliding a menu across the table at me and walking right by without a word. Being in the food service industry for over 12+ years.... not the best start to making me feel welcome. When she was talking to me she was nice but I felt rushed, like she rather continue talking to her regular customers, than me, as someone just passing through( unknowing I was new to the area and trying to find my new Friday breakfast spot). Through the time I was there, her main focus was toward the regular cusotmers and I was just a "side note". I witnessed other customers having to call to her over from other tables, for also being overlooked, as she was sitting/ leaning against a table chatting with customers she clearly knew. 2) I ordered the steak and eggs (which came with homefries and toast); I asked if I could substitute the two sides for a single pancake, and it was a clear "no, that they don't even out..." So I got a pancake on the side. Than the food came out, which did come out in a reasonable amount of time, but wasn't the best. The $14.99 I paid for the dish, I didn't feel was worth it, the steak had a good amount of fat and gristle on it and the two eggs barely looked like two eggs. I was happy with the pancake that was the size of a plate, because that is the thing that filled me up; not this 10oz "ribeye" steak. The steak didn't look like a ribeye based on the cut, nor did it look like nearly a half a pound. ( quality was poor/fair)
I tried the place and will be going somewhere else, wasn't nearly close to the worse place out there, but not worth me going back ( unless you are already a regular, which I am not). I paid $22 in the end, and yes that included a $3 tip, because I won't be an a**hole and leave nothing. I felt the meal was worth $10 (not including the pancake) and will find another Friday breakfast place as a new resident in the local area.
Response to owners Response: To whom it concerns, I can understand how a bad review can effect a business and with writing my review I caution the consumer; that is why I write reviews. I would have pulled you aside if I could have gotten your attention for more than a few minutes; but again like my comment above stated, the attention stayed continually on what seemed like the regular customers ( when very briefly you would address me to see if everything was ok. 4x during the 1 hour and 45minute stay at your diner) My review lets the consumer be cautious; my review didn't give you a one-star and completely write you off; I wouldn't want the next individual to have the experience I had. And yes, working in the food industry, you feel I should have pulled you aside...I barely saw you as my waitress, let alone had the time to wait to have you come back to pull you aside to have a sit down conversation on my experience. One of the two of the food service jobs I occupy is management in a catering company; and we don't get the chance to try again. The food industry can be a hard one, as you know. And we must always be at least on our B-game if anything. I may try the place again, but with the last review by someone 2 weeks ago on how the food hasn't gotten better ( it seems) we will see. Good luck with the business and again reviews are people's opinions, they caution the consumer on our experinece; as I too face within my...
Read moreI hate leaving bad reviews unless absolutely necessary. My first 2 visits here were pleasant. The waitress with the reddish orange hair is my favorite she is very friendly and attentive made me feel at home. Unfortunately my last visit here was not. The waitress with the dark hair slim figure was very rude and dismissive. The food I ordered was not good at all and I simply asked for something else. The woman with the dark hair basically told me she can’t do anything about that and continued on with her other tables. We had a few exchange of words after she kept coming over and I told her I’m not paying for my meal because I wasn’t eating it, she then threatened to call the police on me, we basically started arguing in the restaurant while all the other customers sat there and watched and listened. Eventually the manager came over. As the manager was trying to speak to me, the waitress with the dark hair continued to argue with me, the manager was respectful and professional and offered to make me something else as that’s all I wanted to begin with. I’ve asked the woman with the dark hair to stop coming to our table and serving me and my family yet disregarded everything I asked then proceeded to walk around talking junk to her other employees about me calling me ghetto and making a scene distracting the other employees and then decided to come back to my table and hand my dad the bill saying loudly I’m probably not getting a tip, that’s when I interrupted and said absolutely not and she started going back and forth again. I feel the woman with the dark hair and disrespectful and rude. She is argumentative, she has poor customer service, is unprofessional and dismissive.
I did end up paying for my meal but I definitely did not leave a tip. Overall the business of the restaurant is nice and has an old school feel to it, the manager is polite and friendly. Never had any other issues with any of the other waitresses except this one. I hope the manager pulls her aside and addresses the way she talks to customers because that was uncalled for unprofessional and embarrassing, not only to me and my family but the establishment itself. It hurts...
Read moreWe normally go there a lot, For breakfast Me my mom, step dad and brother went for lunch there. So we sit down and no one comes to give us our menu, drinks ect. My mother goes up, and grabs us a menu and asks for a waiter to have us order drinks. This was after about 10 minutes of sitting and being ignored. So we get our drinks and order our lunches. About 35 minutes go by and we start to relize people AFTER US were getting their food while we were just waiting. We give it another 10 minutes and then my mom goes up to the counter to see what is going on. Mind you, We only had 45 minutes because we had to get back to work at home and no leeway without using vacation time. She finds out that the cooks couldn't read our servers hand writing and pushed us back 10 tickets. When my Mom said she was on a time crunch, they got mad for not being told. Even though its their JOB to give us our food in a timely manner. So a different server brings us our food in to go boxes. THEY DIDENT EVEN GET IT RIGHT. We didn't have the time to fix it so my Mother paid and we left. We did not even get a discount for the BS the put us through. We left $0 tip. First...
