Rocoto Peru & Mex Grill is terrific. Three of us dined on a Friday evening. The place was really hopping with take-out and dine-in. Located on Cape Horn Road north of Red Lion in a small strip-mall, the place is spotlessly clean, brightly decorated and casual. You place your order at the counter and are given a pager for pick-up. There are plenty of tables and, best of all, it is handicapped accessible - even the restrooms. I had empanadas - beef & roasted chicken - with criolla salsa and Rocoto cream (very spicy). The pastry was tender and flaky and the fillings tasty, the addition of the salsa and cream was perfect. French fries were hot and fresh. Another diner had the Chicken Millanesa sandwich and raved about how soft and moist the bun was and great flavor of the chicken patty. This came with a small serving of fries. He also had the Ceviche Classico - something really different and delicious - tender fresh fish marinated and cooked in citrus juice and served cold with onions and cilantro. Sides of white corn and sweet potato were included. Diner #3 ordered the Shrimp Fajitas - sauteed with onions and peppers. He got 3 tortillas. small container of Spanish rice, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and cheese also. Finally, for the table, Nachos with Cheese and fresh salsa. Large plateful was plenty as an appetizer for 3 people. The staff were very, very nice, polite and efficient. Highly recommend Rocoto Peru & Mex Grill. You will not be disappointed and there are a number of really unique menu items to try. My 2nd visit was just as awesome as the first. Yummy sandwich Asado de Carne - spicy slices of beef with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, salsa and cream comes with a side of freshly made fries. On Friday evenings this place is hopping with eat-in and lots of take out. Don't wait any longer to try...
Read moreWe stopped in to order lunch to go because we have been wanting to try their food for months and couldn't wait for our schedules to align to have dinner there. 1) The place is really cute. I loved the decorations and it was very comfortable. The kitchen is open so you can watch the masters at work, but it isn't hot or loud. 2) The customer service is outstanding. Blanca helped us with our order and she was very helpful letting us know all the options and extras that were available. She didn't have to twist my arm to say yes to everything. 3) The food is amazing. We ordered a variety of items and everything was so good. Their empanada dough is soft and sweet; we loved the chicken empanadas the best. The burrito bowl was a healthy portion and the steak was nicely cooked and seasoned. The chicken tacos were full and super yummy. Their plantains were soft and sweet, and were quite tasty.
We will definitely be ordering from Rocoto again. Next time I want to get a full...
Read moreas someone who is a lover of the yoe area, it is my top priority to discover all of the amazing places that surround my lovely home. Rocotos is that place. One day as I awoke and went on my normal walking around the neighborhood and discovered a restaurant in a small shopping center. I saw a bunch of smiling faces that greated me. Immediately, out of pure love and joy, I ordered all the empanadas and ate them. My body became full of positivity. The employees are beyond amazing. Such kind souls with radiant smiles that I can see them through the masks. I go in quite often now, every Saturday to get some empanadas and something off the menu (I’m working on trying everything!!!) 10000000% recommend this place. If you’ve read this far, now you have to recommend a friend and...
