Doug's Diner - Windsor — Restaurant in Windsor

The server was polite but very confused with my order when I substituted chicken for a burger. When I received my order I made the mistake of not noticing it came with tomatoes, piclkes, and lettuce. (I apologized for my mistake) I sent it back before I realized my mistake. A female server or manager came to see what was wrong with the order. I explained I was allergic to tomatoes and she stated , they would make me a new sandwich. When that woman, who was not our server, brought my food back she showed rudeness by basically slapping my plate down and walking away as if I was rude to her. It was only about a minute when I got my order back. Not nearly enough time to remake it. Definitely the same sandwich, only a lot of lettuce and no more pickels or tomatoes. The bottom bun was now soggy, to soggy to eat as it was not appetizing at all. The chicken was warm, but not hot, and very dry. I didn't bother to finish it..not good. I began looking at all the people working there, they all seemed in foul moods. Like no one wanted to be there and everyone hated their jobs. Not a warm or welcoming environment. I understand the restaurant environment as I worked in a similar restaurant many years ago, for nearly 8 years. It seems as customer service has gone out the window and service with a smile is no longer a thing. I've been to Doug's several times and this time along with a week ago when my coworkers and I visited the one in Greeley, Colorado have left us feeling that I'd rather go to a fast food place. I do not remember the names as no one had name tags on. Doug's is usually a great place but these 2 experiences have made my wife and I think we'll be looking elsewhere for...

So so SLOW! My family of 4 went to Dougs Diner in Windsor last Thursday morning for my birthday! We were so excited when we saw it wasn’t busy at all because we have two very small children, so we like to order and eat before they are over it. We were sat right away, it then took 15 min to be greeted by our sever. We decided to order food and drinks at the same time since we waited forever. It took another 10 min to get 3 drinks (Orange juice and soda) I really wanted a mimosa for my birthday but wasn’t offered a drink menu so I decided I wouldn’t even bother since we had already waited so long who knows how long that would take. It Then took 40 min to get our food (we had been there for an hour at this point) When the food finally came out mine was made wrong, our sons kids chocolate chip pancake was a MESS. Instead of putting chocolate chips in the batter they put a layer of chocolate chips on the plate then put the pancake on top with more chocolate chips on top. It was a complete mess and we thought was so lazy of them! We have been to other locations and have never had it come out like that. Since mine was made wrong they took it back and brought a new one which took another 10ish min. Overall not a good experience, was sad I had to waste almost 2 hours of my birthday with my kids crying because the service was awful! Been here 2x. Great 1st experience, 2 people. Frontier Burger was great! 2nd was today, 4 people. Ordered a side salad before the meal. Tables are small, lunch rush, longer wait times, cook times, I understand. Plus eating it before the meal means I get to eat a hot meal. Salad came out couple minutes before the meal. Just slightly irritating. Waitress said, "We are at the mercy of the kitchen with getting salads out before meals." "Not your fault." I replied back. She was awesome. The Legend Burger was great. Got the fries "messy" with their green chile. Taste great! The Legend has green chile and I was expecting some green chile like the fries, it looked like they were sliced, not the "messy" green chile. I don't like eating my burger with a bun. So the chile messy would have been a great option. Wasn't taking my chances with the kitchen wait times and having green chile and a cold burger. Everything was good shape and clean. Everyone was polite. Iced tea was good. All our drinks were good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Will return. Restroom was clean. Kid mentioned it too. Plenty of parking.
