Luigi spoils Winfield, KS and maybe they don't even realize it yet. Visiting for a week from Arizona we've made the rounds of 6 main local dine-in restaurants and Luigi's surpasses them all. Even compared to top family owned Italian restaurants back home Luigi's costs at least 3 times less and is much better food. The rolls with real butter are homemade, soft, and fresh baked. Spend $3 for Olive Oil, Garlic, and Basil to go with the rolls to take it to another level. The Italian Sausage appetizer in delicious sauce also went well with the bread to start. Above all the Breaded Chicken Breast on the Italian Tour is the best we've ever had anywhere! Baked Rigatoni was yum and comforting. To finish it off the homemade Tiramisu just took us over the top. Everything we tried was clearly authentic, homemade and delicious. Even while it was busy with dine-in and carry-out, the service was warm, welcoming, and attentive (and if you've read a previous review my husband has long hair too ;). The restaurant climate is peaceful and even a hint of romantic for a date night. Our server's name was Amerikan and he had just the right tone and timing. This is our second experience at Luigi's and all I remember from the first experience in July of 2018 is that I had to go back. This trip confirmed that Luigi's is a favorite. Wish we had reasonably priced, authentic delish, family-owned Italian restaurant in Tucson. Well we have many of them but they are over priced and a let down every time we decide to give them another try, except for maybe one. Winfield you have a little...
Read moreI was excited to try this restaurant. We entered through the door off 9th Street, which apparently isn’t the front door, disputed no signs saying to find a host stand at the other entrance. No one greeted us, and all the waiters seemed far too busy to help us, which was rude because they were not especially busy. We finally stopped someone to be seated, and she told us to sit where we like, so we sat. About ten minutes went by, and no one came to our table. My husband finally went and found someone, again, and was was met with a rude attitude, asking who sat us, like we knew people my name. We finally got service, but still didn’t have menus. After we ordered, different waitresses kept coming over, giving us diifferent excuses as to why our food was taking so long. We finally received our food an hour later (I wish I was over exaggerating the time) it was bland, and forgettable. The only good thing about this restaurant is the free dinner rolls. We will definitely not be returning. Save yourself the time and money and...
Read moreThis is an absolute gem of an italian resturant. Wonderful menu and good wine selection. We had two of the pasta offering, spaghetti with meat sauce and the cheese spinach ravioli...the sauces were so tasty. The meal is served with homemade italian bread rolls that are very, very good. We ordered a salad to share, separate from the main course. Fresh, cold, crisp, with lettuce, tomato, black olive, red onion and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. Friendly staff and personal service that makes you feel valued as a customer. It is located in Winfield, very much worth the drive. The venue has capacity for large seating and could easily accommodate a reunion dinner or something along those lines. Hours are limited to lunches through the week, but have lunch through dinner...
