Sicklerville Soul Food (Victoria's Kitchen) — Restaurant in Winslow Township

My sisterfriend and I wanted soul food for a belated New Year's Day celebration and Corrine's in Camden is closed on Tuesday's; fortunately I got a menu in the mail over the weekend prior to our celebration.

I ordered the fried chicken dinner with mac and cheese, potato salad, collard greens, corn bread and my sisterfriend ordered the grilled shrimp and grilled fish dinner, with collard greens, and potato salad, freshly squeezed blueberry lemonade. The food was superb!!! The chicken cripsy, flavorful, and generous size pieces, the collard were melt in your mouth (fresh greens), mac and cheese creamy, and cheddar enhanced, the shrimp nice size, and the tilapia nicely flavored with garlic and butter. Desert, we both had chocolate cake, a generous slice of pure chocolate lovers delight!!! Like eating a jumbo chocolate Tastykake cup cake, but oh so much better!!!

I think their chicken beats KFC'S, Churches, and Popyes' hands down and I didn't think that was ever possible!!!

I didn't get to taste the cornbread, because it was mistakenly left out of our take out order, no worries, was credited for next visit. With the well tasting and quality of the food I did taste, I'm sure the cornbread will be just as good on my next order. Yes, my next order this restaurant is well worth a second, third, and infinite number of return visits. I would even encourage churches, public affairs, and individuals family events to consider catering for their functions!!!

Extremely impressed, and satisfied with the service and quality...

So I had an interesting visit. I will start by saying the customer service that I received showed me that this is not something that normally happens. And for that I truly appreciate the staff there.

First, I ordered the stuffed salmon for myself, which sounded so good ando got the fried chicken platter for my fiancé. After I placed the order, I was told they were out of salmon. No big deal. I replaced it with the chicken wings and shrimp. Idk, I just had a craving for some seafood. Instead of just refusing me the difference, the staff, I think his name was Barry, refunded me the entire stuffed shrimp platter and gave me the chicken and shrimp for free. That was awesome of them. I was not expecting that at all. And honestly, they did not have to do that.

Then, they started having a little trouble in the kitchen. Long story short, we ended up waiting an hour for our food. However, what happened next made me feel that these long waits aren’t a normal occurrence for them. They refunded our entire meal to us for waiting so long! Again, they did not have to do this. It was greatly appreciated though.

We got our food hot too! And, I guarantee you, the quality of what they’re serving, I did not mind the wait after the fact. I’m fighting a food coma right now typing this review. I’m not always in Sicklerville, but if I am there or around there, I will be making many more visits here.

Great food, even...

My husband and I was in the area visiting family and we decided to stop to this restaurant to pick up something to take home. We waited wayyyy too long for food. While waiting I observed how they were always out of items, people leaving because of the wait and the staff messing up orders. Our food was ready so I went to the car while my husband got the food, BIG MISTAKE! I drove all the way back home (an hour away) to open the bag and two of the orders were not what I ordered. I blame my husband for not checking the food before he walked out of there but I figured let’s make the best of it and just eat what we got but as I tried it I’m now frustrated because the food is just mediocre. The Mac n cheese was dry, yams tasted out of a can (and not even doctored up) and the chicken was meh. I wasted all that time in there, got the wrong food all to be mediocre I could of went somewhere local. Can I add I ordered a salmon dinner, smothered turkey chops and one chicken And I ended up getting 2 chicken dinners with the wrong sides and a turkey chop dinner (only got the turkey chops right) so technically I over paid because the salmon dinner was more then the chicken dinner they messed up and gave us. I really hope they do better in the future but I won’t be going back if I’m down...
