We went for the first time the Saturday before Mothers Day, and was seated quickly. We were a party of 5 and ordered appetizers, empanada and loaded Azul Nachos, which were good. Our food came out 20 minutes later and the timing was actually good. My wife ordered a Mothers Day Seafood Platter, which included a 8 oz Lobster tail, scallops and shrimp. Other members of my party had Fajita's, Tacos and a pasta dinner. Our experience was excellent. I have tried many Mexicans restaurants in my time, many in Texas, and I will say Azul Tequila is in my top 3. The management and the staff were amazing, always attentive with customers. So I will say if you want Authentic Mexican Food Azul Tequila is the place to go. The way its decorated inside says it all. When speaking with the manager that night I was under the impression this was a chain restaurant. I was wrong..He told me it was privately owned by a Mexican family living the American Dream....We...
Read moreAttended during their soft opening. The atmosphere is very charming, the menu is on an iPad which is brilliant! I ordered Horchata (a tad pricy) and chicharron filled quesadillas. Served before ordering, tortilla chips with a tomato salsa and salsa Verde. The chips weren't warm, but the dips sure woke up my taste buds! Yum! After a bit of a wait, my platter was served with rice and a small side of lettuce, radish, and tomato. The first bite of my quesadilla proved less than what I am used to when eating chicharron. It was undercooked. The rice was cold. The manager was quick to replace the rice with another plate of cold rice. Despite these issues, the food was flavorful and plentiful, surroundings very pleasant, staff amiable, and I'll most likely return when the weather is warmer. (Ladies, wear your snuggies in the restroom when it's cold outside!) I wish them...
Read moreI tried this place for the first time and ordered the Burrito Mar y Tierra. Honestly, it was just okay. The burrito was on the small side and not very filling, the rice lacked flavor, and overall the portion was disappointing for the price. I felt like it wasn’t worth the cost and ended up regretting the purchase, should’ve gone to Nick’s Pizza instead.
The positive reviews feel a little misleading, maybe because many people leaving them don’t really know what authentic Latin food should taste like. When I saw a tomahawk steak on the menu, I had a feeling this place wasn’t going to deliver true Latin flavors. Unfortunately, most of the local restaurants around here fall into the same category. If you want real authentic and flavorful Latin food, you’ll need to go to places like North Jersey, Philly, or other areas with a strong Latin community...
