I never do this but I think it’s time so upper management can take control and bring back the old Dennys we all know and loved. First of all, I want to say these reviews are a joke. I’ve learned how this small town works, and every 5 star review is from the workers friends and family members. But aside from that; I love classic diner food so I always end up coming back here. And as long as I’ve been a customer, some of the workers have been employed here. By now you’d think they’d know how to cook a steak, when salmon is over cooked, or if food has been sitting so long it’s unacceptable to serve, not argue about what the customer OR the server requested, and how to act in front of customers. It’s sad that the best cook only works the late shift. Sometimes I wait until 10ish to order and it’s perfect every time! And fast! The other cook THINKS he’s Gods chef sent down for man but people need to quit lying to him. And even if it’s good, I don’t need you coming to tell me how good you are. Ha Side note: prices for microwaved/deep fried food has gotten outrageous………… I could have lunch at La Posada for the price of my ticket the other day! However, I know the prices have nothing to do with the workers, so I’ll stop there. Speaking of the workers……. I’m not sure if because of my race stereotype, they think I won’t tip, or if they’re just really that incompetent, but I have a feeling it’s a little of both. I’m convinced, at this point, that the completely unprofessional General Manager only hires her low-life friends who can’t make it in life elsewhere. As soon as you walk in, it’s pretty evident. Attitude, profanity, smoking, extensive trashy makeup and covered in tattoos. I also realize tattoos and makeup are acceptable in 2023, but inappropriate ones and having their faces covered (in both) isn’t an ideal for a family restaurant. I think it’s safe to say those employees belong in the back for a place where we take our children and elders. Especially the ones clearly under the influence of substances. Staff turnaround seems to be a problem, and while it may seem like a corporate problem, it also affects US- the customer. Each time a nice individual starts working and things are great for a trip- they seem to realize what a wreck the place is as well and poof they’re gone as fast as they came. Only the Dennys clique stays… growing their team by hiring their cousins, daughters, sons, friends, or acquaintances from the street who need a favor. As I stated prior………… I don’t enjoy doing this, but if you try discussing this in person with management, they’ll lie in your face, act like they care, then disgrace you and laugh about it with the problem employees later anyway. I feel like Trump when I say this but LETS MAKE DENNYS GREAT AGAIN.. we already have limited options here. Thank you for...
Read moreSo I’m a truck driver I stopped in at about 2 AM to order my dinner and shut down for the night after a long 12hr day of driving. I go in the server was polite & she took my order I ordered the chicken Parmesan and a order of nachos and I’m told it will be ready in about 20mins.. I go back to my truck find a parking spot & return but when the hostess finally sees me she says hey we were looking for you.. she tells me, we don’t have any pico de gallo so we didn’t make your nachos..Oh and we don’t have any spaghetti sauce so we didn’t make your chicken Parmesan either.. i look at her puzzled because when I ordered the chicken Parmesan I asked her specifically if they had it & she replied yes we do..I asked to make sure because if not I would have ordered something different! & to top it all off you didn’t make my nachos because of a lack of salsa? Ridiculous! Then she says oh sorry we’ll just give you a refund and you can expect that back to your debit card in 3-5 days?! As if there was nothing more she could have done.. just send me away still hungry and without my money in hand.. I usually enjoy coming to this dennys whenever I pass through but tonight made me realize I won’t be coming back! I was thoroughly pissed off..& so I then tell her wouldn’t it make sense to make my nachos just with out the salsa?! She says oh yes we can do that we have everything else to go on it just no pico so I say okay can you please do that & ask the chef to just add some chopped onion please she replied yes! I then asked her to give me a chicken strip meal in replacement of my chicken Parmesan even though the chicken Parmesan is more expensive & I wouldn’t be getting my full moneys worth back.. she says yes.. I tell her to give me mashed potatoes and rice to go with it she say yes again.. I wait another 20mins and get my food I say thank you and go back to my truck to eat.. only to realize she did not put any onion on my nachos nor did she put sour cream all of which is supposed to come with it.. and instead of the rice and mashed potato I asked for I received fries instead.. I’m really not a picky guy but this pissed me off so I was once again forced to go back inside.. I just spent almost $35 and not only did I have to wait 45 mins I also didn’t get what I paid for idk what’s going on at this location but just a little communication between the hostess & the cook would have made sure this customer left happy and gave a handsome tip..instead I’m gonna eat food I didn’t have the taste for and I’m leaving a 1 star review! Treat hard working truckers better or get out of the truck stop! Let another restaurant who knows how to treat a paying customer serve in your place! We work hard for our money and we spend it with you guys regularly! All we ask is for a little hospitality respect and for our food to be...
Read moreUNACCEPTABLE!! I came in for dinner (03/31/2023). Was sat down, and had my drink order taken. It took 30 minutes for the server to even recognize that I hadn't ordered yet. I missed out on getting a T-bone steak, because he took everyone else's orders and I had been sat down before them. So, I was unfortunately forced to order the sirloin. The food came out perfect. Give that cook a raise. Most Denny's cooks can't get steaks right to save their lives. The following morning, I came in for breakfast, was sat down, and once again, it took at least half an hour before I had to hail someone. I figured I'd give them benefit of the doubt, as it was busy, but multiple employees passed by my without acknowledging my presence in my booth... Not a "hello", "have you ordered yet?"... Not a single solitary acknowledgement. After ordering my meal, the hash browns came out OK, but the philly cheese steak omelet had HUGE chunks of meat. It was 3 bite's worth. Ya'll need to have the cooks, chop up the meat a little better, for better distribution of meat in every bite (friendly suggestion).
Denny's management, you AND your server employees need additional training in customer service. Had I treated customers the way I was treated (back in my foodservice days), I would have been fired... You guys need to do better. In your replies to people's review, you say "we strive to blah blah blah"... If ya'll strove for anything, I wouldn't have had the experience I did, TWO MEALS IN A ROW...
Edit: I forgot your name (I'm sorry), but to the manager who took my order, this review was written before I had learned that you were a/the manager and comped my meal. Please know, It was appreciated and very much unexpected. So far as the meat, I understand supply gets low when people continue to order stuff. I was just mentioning in the review how it was upsetting that's what I wanted, but due to the failure of the night staff ackowledging I was there, and taking the order of others who showed up well after me, I wasn't able to receive what I intended to order. Please notice that I have also updated the review to reflect your kind gesture to correct a wrong. Like I mentioned before, I am incredibly appreciative. I run through I-40 often. I hope that my next visit will be much better. I personally abhor giving bad reviews, but unfortunately, it is a must in the [hopefully] rare occasion, to hopefully ensure better service...
