Café Arthur's in Winston-Salem: A Review Nestled in the heart of Winston-Salem, Café Arthur's has long stood as a beacon of culinary delight, especially for those who relish a hearty, delicious breakfast. Recently, this iconic establishment welcomed a new era under the management team from Cagney's, another local favorite. Their influence is subtle yet significant, enhancing the experience while retaining the essence that makes Café Arthur's a cherished staple. Upon entering, one is immediately enveloped in the warm, inviting ambiance that has welcomed generations of diners. The décor, a tasteful blend of traditional and contemporary, echoes the seamless fusion of old and new that defines this café. The walls, adorned with photographs and memorabilia, narrate the rich history of the place, reminding diners of its enduring presence in the Winston-Salem community. The menu, though familiar, boasts of subtle innovations introduced by the new management. Classic breakfast dishes are prepared with a level of care and expertise that only comes from years of culinary experience. From fluffy pancakes to savory omelets, each dish is a testament to the quality ingredients and skillful preparation. Notably, the café has managed to maintain the affordability of its offerings, making it a rare find in an era of escalating dining costs. This aspect alone makes Café Arthur's a standout, offering exceptional value in Winston-Salem's dining scene. Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of Café Arthur's is the sense of community it fosters. It’s not uncommon to see a diverse mix of patrons, from young professionals to long-standing regulars, all converging in this cozy space. The staff, always friendly and attentive, adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making everyone feel like a part of the Café Arthur's family. The new management, with their roots in Cagney's, has brought a fresh perspective while respecting the café's legacy. They've managed to strike a perfect balance between innovation and tradition, a feat that is often challenging in the culinary world. This careful stewardship is evident not just in the food or prices, but in the overall experience of dining at Café Arthur's. In conclusion, Café Arthur's under its new management is a harmonious blend of the past and present. It offers a culinary experience that is both comforting and exciting, at prices that are incredibly reasonable. Its enduring appeal lies not just in its food, but in its ability to remain a vibrant, welcoming space for all. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a long-time regular, Café Arthur's in Winston-Salem is a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.

I wanted to grab breakfast in between two doctor’s appointments and remembered I had not been here in quite awhile. Nestled in the beautiful Ardmore neighborhood, this cozy diner style restaurant has been a stable in the community for a long time. It recently came under new ownership and they are doing a phenomenal job. Very welcoming and friendly, feels like your home. There are both tables and booths and though it may look small, there is plenty of seating inside. The menu has something for everyone and they run daily specials. Today’s special was 4 bacon strips, two eggs, one side and toast. The bacon was perfectly crispy, with two o er easy eggs and whole wheat toast that was soft and perfectly buttered. I got a fruit cup side, with fresh blueberries, strawberries, pineapple & grapes, it topped off this perfect breakfast. My server kept my water filled and checked on me several times. I need to make my way to this side of town more often! Love it!

If you want the best damn French toast in your life, this is the spot!! The first time I've been here and I'm super impressed. It's a small place. Tons of charm. The wait staff are the sweetest you'll ever meet! I also ordered chunky homefries with cheese... my fave...also the bomb!!! Nothing too fancy about this little place but that's what makes it so special, IMO. Like a little special spot for the locals 🥰🥰🥰

We stopped in for the first time this AM for a late breakfast. We are first time visitors but had heard great things about this local icon for good quality diner food. We were underwhelmed with the experience. The cleanliness was less than my comfort level was ok with… the ketchup and other bottles on the table were all sticky and in need of a good wipe down, the booth seats had food memories on them, and several flies buzzed around the table throughout our meal. The grits were the most under-seasoned grits I may have ever had at a southern diner. The other food was decent, but nothing extraordinary. Our server was distracted and not very friendly. Everyone has a bad day now and then, so this wasn’t a huge factor in our evaluation. Overall, this was a decent option for mid-range food, but nothing that will draw us back for a return visit. The prices did not reflect the quality of the food or...
