My bf and I decided to give Coppola's a try tonight for dinner. Let's just say that it was not a pleasant experience. The server was very nice. We ordered mozzarella sticks for appetizers and for the entrees, we ordered chicken parmigiana and baked ziti. The first red flag was the amount of marinara sauce covering both of our entrees. You couldn't really see what the order was. My bf ordered the chicken and, underneath all the sauce and cheese, it was the saddest, thinnest, lacking in moisture, gray looking "chicken". My ziti was lacking flavor. I'm sorry I didn't take pics of the chicken because I still cannot believe that a restaurant would have the balls to serve that. We told our server that we were not satisfied with our food. She apologized and had the manager remove it from our check. No problem. Fair enough. I went to pay for our sodas and mozzarella sticks when the manager came over to take my payment. That's when it got unpleasant. The manager proceeds to ask me if we didn't like the food. Not sure if he was being sarcastic but I said no, we did not. With other customers sitting waiting on their orders, he proceeds to mansplain to me that he has been in business for 32 years and hasn't had complains about his food (really? In 32 years?) and he says to me "whatever". Boyfriend didn't like that and they proceeded to have a back and forth. Basically, the manager said to us that since he had never seen us there, our opinion about his food didn't matter and he would be happy if we never came back. We said no problem because this isn't real Italian food. We weren't rude at all but the manager just pushed and got rudeness back. It's sad that you can't find good mom and pop Italian food in Winston-Salem aside from one or two places then you venture to give local places a try and regret...

We live near this place and have been wanting to try it for awhile, and we absolutely will never go back. I can't stress enough how terrible the experience was from start to finish. We ordered from the parking lot through Doordash because we were driving by and decided to stop. My husband went inside after they marked the order as ready for pickup, but it wasn't ready. He waited an additional 10min inside (after waiting about 15 in the car). Why did they mark it as ready if it wasn't?! Ok, not a huge deal, at least it will be fresh. Wrong. By the time we got home, literally a 4 min drive, the French Fries were so cold and soggy, you could tell they had been sitting. Probably the part of the order that was ready for pickup... The Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich ... where do I start? The quality of the chicken was the worst I've ever had. Super thin and tough to chew, let alone break a piece off with my teeth while taking a bite. There was so much cheese, it was unbearable. Basically a mozzarella stick between bread. And almost no sauce, which may have helped with how bad the chicken was. The way they worded it on their menu, it sounded amazing, but it was literally cafeteria food. There was nothing fresh or quality about it. My husband got the Stromboli (Small) and he didn't hate it, but said he would never get it again. He had to get a knife just to cut through how much cheese was in it, which he wasn't impressed with. If there was less cheese, he said it would have been a lot better. Overall though, the worst meal we've had in...

Went here after my daughter's graduation bc a fancier Italian steakhouse had too long of a wait, and I'm really glad it did. Coppolas is the definition of a hidden gem, a diamond in the rough. From outside, the building and surrounding "shopping" center scream at you to run away, but I promise if you fight that feeling and go inside, you will NOT regret it. The atmosphere is cozy and homely, without being messy and dusty. Brick walls, wood booths, wine bottles, old pictures, really make you feel like youre in a laid back, neighborhood place. The food was ridiculous and the prices were excellent! Best fried calamari I've ever had, shrimp fra diavlo was exactly the right amount of spicy, salads that came with dinner were clean, fresh and colorful, my mom said it was the best lasagna she's ever had.... and I could go on. Our plates were empty and we were stuffed by the end of dinner even with 3 picky kids. Since moving down here from NY I have not been able to find a decent cannoli, except that now I found an exceptional one the other night at Coppolas. Tiramasu was dynamite as well. Our waiter, who was just graduating high school as well, you would have thought he was in the restaurant business for 20 years! Very professional, attentive, helpful, friendly, quick and hard working. We even met someone who looked like the manager/owner ? who was super friendly, joking around with us. We used to just pick up pizzas here once in a while but I'd be proud to become a steady regular at this place and...

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I wish I could give it zero stars for the way I was treated here as a customer. I have eaten here only a handful of times. Today was the last day that I will ever eat there again. My family and I ordered a Large Cheese Sicilian Pizza. It wasn’t good at all. It tasted like cafeteria-served pizza. From the dough to the cheese, I would have been better off making it at home and saving the money. I proceed to call the restaurant regarding the experience, in hopes that we would be able to resolve something. I was able to speak with the owner. I casually explained the situation and asked if there was anything that could be done. He was absolutely terrible and spoke to me as though nothing I said mattered. He was extremely rude, and I have never experienced that before from a local restaurant especially. He began going off at me about how long he has been making pizzas and basically, he couldn’t care less about my one experience. Then hangs up in my face. I feel bad for whoever is supporting a business owner that treats their customers like this. Regardless, of how long they have been in business, every experience matters. That’s the only way to get better as an establishment. All in all, I will not be returning. And I hope no one has to experience this again.

Tried Coppola's for the first time today. We finally have perfect fall weather so was looking forward to sitting on the patio, but there has been road and greenway construction in the area recently and we were told we could not sit outside because they needed to pressure wash and it was dirty. Construction was not currently happening and being a Friday with beautiful weather I was surprised they did not have the patio open. The tables and chairs outside were dusty, but looked like they could easily just be sprayed off with a regular hose; no pressure washing necessary. My son and I had the calamari and he wanted jalapeño poppers. Both were frozen products, which didn't surprise me. Both appetizers had a bitter taste, leaving me to believe they need to change the fryer oil. We ordered their Sicilian style pizza. I knew it would be a thick crust, but it was super bready and just not what I was looking for. This is close to home so I would give it another try and try the neopolitan style pizza or one of their many sandwiches or pasta entrees; probably would skip the appetizers.

My girlfriend and I went out for date night tonight. We picked this place off Google maps because it was close and had good reviews. So glad we came. Food: I highly recommend the lobster ravioli. Sauce was delicious! Calamari was good, but fried a bit harder than I prefer. Shrimp Parmigiano was too saucy and we did not care much for it. My girlfriend sent it back and opted for a slice of pepperoni pizza. That was better. Atmosphere: The ambiance is nice, casual, and comfortable. Service: Anna was amazing, professional, and friendly! She was super attentive and we wish her the best as she leaves for college! So glad we got to meet her!! Elizabeth was also a joy when she had to come to the table. Customer service here exceeded my expectations!
