I go here often and am usually quite satisfied, but they are incredibly difficult when it comes to fixing their mistakes. They will try their best to make it the customer's fault and convince customers that the incorrectly made dish is acceptable. I've had it happen to me a couple of times and have also observed them giving other customers a hard time. Last night, I ordered chicken with broccoli in a white sauce. We were very clear about the sauce and the clerk even recited it back to clarify and make sure we didn't want brown sauce. So, what did we get? Brown sauce. The clerk wanted to argue, but eventually backed down and became polite and apologetic. He told the cook what she'd done incorrectly. I took my meal home, opened it, and realized the chicken looked a little different from the way it usually does in white sauce. After tasting it, I realized I hadn't received a freshly made entree. It was clear that the cook had just put the chicken and broccoli through a light rinse and then coated it with hot clear sauce. When I tasted it, there was still a hint of the old sauce. Fortunately, it was acceptable, but I did not appreciate the deceit. For all they knew, I could have been allergic to one of the ingredients in the sauce they had left remnants of in my meal. They had no concern about that. All they cared about was saving a couple of bucks by recycling ingredients rather than...
Read moreKowloon has always been my favorite "hole in the wall" Chinese restaurant. I have always loved the food and the people who ran it. Unfortunately, because of moving, COVID....etc I hadn't been there in quite awhile. Today I was just craving there Kung Pao Shrimp. I ordered online because it's rainy and cold and I didn't feel like waiting. First I get there and am told they didn't get a phone call????? telling the I had placed an online order. So I waited....no heat in the place and nothing I mean NOTHING has changed. It's still the sad hole in the wall with the same floor tile half way up the walls. But now the food has joined the sad interior. The kung Pao shrimp (I don't eat peanuts) was 99% celery. There was 4 shrimp and maybe 2 baby corns cut in pieces and the rest was green pepper. No onion no bamboo shoots or watercl chestnuts. It was just sad. Also, I love dry noodle. They used to fry it themselves. Today I got the stuff you can buy at the grocery store in a bag. I think this was my last trip to Kowloon, hopefully they read reviews and will take action before they lose...
Read moreFor the last 10 years husband and I have gotten our Chinese from here and it’s been what we’ve expected. Have owners changed in that timeframe, yes. But it’s still better than most places. No we don’t come here for customer experience, we come here for the food at the right price. People complaining about the food or the tables not being clean do not know what this place is about. You want a 5 star table service, go to a place that charges you $50 for two plus tip? This is primarily a takeout restaurant, and a lunch special place with decent pricing. We get our large chicken and broccoli almost every Friday with an order of dumplings (sometimes a shrimp roll) and they are always fresh and always just right. We drive 15 mins to get these when we have two other Chinese restaurants that are only 3-5 mins away. Everyone with a negative review needs to check themselves and their entitlement. Leave this place alone and go pay for the service your want somewhere you pay 40%+ more if you...
