I hate to say it, but in my opinion this is the worst of the McDonald's in the Winston-Salem area. The past several visits spanning the past year have mostly resulted in cold food, missing items, and mediocre customer service.
Tonight's experience was unfortunately no different which is disappointing considering it is right up from my home, a convenient location, and a beautiful restaurant. The night goes like this... ordered through drive-thru and was greeted with laughter (horseplay) in the background from the employees on the speaker, continually being cutoff before my order was complete, and very crude guest relations. I received the food promptly and was moved through the windows with ease, but really no appreciation or concern I was even there.
Upon leaving the window, I checked my order before departure from the parking lot. Immediately, I had to park and prepare to enter the store with a concern. The fries were ice cold and waxy (if that is a word, but I'm sure we can all relate to waxy fries at some point), one cheeseburger missing, and there were no napkins or ordered sauces.
I went in the store to literally wait in line for two other customers who also had missing items or cold food. That made me the third in a row... once I got to the counter, the "customer service manager" who was on duty was quick to hear my concerns. He offered to replace the order and rang it in the system. Unfortunately, even though he was prompt, there was not much actual customer service or even an apology. I would also like to say that when you are a customer ordering food/ watching food be bagged and prepared, one of the last things you want to see is the manager continually playing with his/her hair and face. I especially dislike it in a pandemic where mask are being worn and people's concerns are at an all time high.
After waiting, and watching, the new order being prepared (which I do appreciate), I noticed the fries were pulled 30 seconds before the timer went off. That probably sounds trivial unless you have worked in a restaurant and then you realize it is a pretty big deal. With fries, they do not thoroughly cook and become oily... with meats, there is potential for illness. As predicted the fries were hot right off, but 2 minutes later when arriving home, I only had a greasy mess.
Unfortunately, during all this time the smoothie and McFlurry had melted in the vehicle - but at this point I needed to pick up my kids and couldn't go back yet again. Before leaving the General Manager emerged from the office with another female manager and never once tried to address the fiasco happening in the kitchen or the 5 (yes two more came in with issues on their order) guests standing around the counter. Instead, one told the earlier mentioned manager that "when the Doordash/Uber eats order arrived to send them right back to the office." When I tried to call on my way home, one minute after leaving, the phone rang till a recording came on asking me to enter my code (remote access voice-mail message) and the second time I was informed the General Manager had just walked out the door to go home.

First of all, they never have a staff member at the register & while me & my son waited on our order, I watched 2 different people stand there waiting for someone to come take their but NOBODY EVER CAME TO HELP SO THOSE 2 PEOPLE WAITED BETWEEN 10 - 15 MINS EACH, THEN WALKED OUT. They totally screwed up my frappe bc it was supposed to be a large with extra Carmel, add expresso, we'll they handed me a medium coffee with ice. Haha, Not funny. So when I said something about it, THE MANAGER didn't care at all. Finally a girl mid twenties came over & fixed it FOR me with THE MANAGER WATCHING OVER her shoulder. This establishment used to be well kept & for the most part it still is except the bathroom. You can tell this group of workers had no care in the world & obviously don't care about where they work since the bathrooms looked like they did. Also on the day me & my son went, they had a wheel up front that you could spin & get a prize if you showed a worker that you have the McDonald's app or if you download it. Well we could not GET A SINGLE WORKER TO COME OUT THERE TO SPIN THAT WHEEL & GET A PRIZE.
MCDONALD'S DO BETTER. IF I WAS THE HEAD MANGER & WALKED & SEEN MY CREW NOT DOING THEIR JOBS & ACTING RUDELY & RACIST TO OTHER CUSTOMERS...... I WOULD MAKE THAT CREW CLEAN THE INSIDE OF THAT PLACE TILL OT WAS SPOTLESS THEN WHEN THEY FINISHED.... I WOULD ABSOLUTELY 100% FIRE THEIR...
   Read moreThis was my first time coming to this McDonalds and to say the least the customer service was terrible. I went to one of the drive thrus and waited about 3 mins. No one was taking my order. I thought okay maybe this one is broken.. I went to the other drive thru and once again no one was taking my order, until someone else went to the first drive thru I was at before and they took that person order first even though I was there before. Mind you I was the only one trying to place an order before. Finally one of the young ladies taking orders asked me to go ahead with my order. I tried to let her know that I was being ignored and she abruptly cut me off and told me to âgo ahead with your orderâ. She had a terrible attitude towards me. Even though I shouldnât have, I placed my order but the whole time she kept cutting me off and rushing me. Once I got to the first window to pay, there was a young guy taking my payment and he was laughing the whole time. The only person with some sense was the older lady in the second window who gave me my order. She was kind. The food was not how I ordered it even though I repeated it like 5 times. It was also very salty. I ended up throwing it away. A waste of my time and money. Last thing.. it took about 10 minutes to place my order and to receive it. I was the only person there.
