Papa Lee's Grill @ Winston Lake — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

My boyfriend and I decided to try out this new spot in our community today. When we entered we were not greeted. I spoke to the cashier and said hi, how are you and didn't get a response. She wasn't rude but not friendly or personable at all. We ordered the Papa's Double cheeseburger with no tomato. They left the tomato on it but no biggie. The chili on the burger was REALLY GOOD! The burger had a great chargrilled taste and was huge. We would definitely order it again. We ordered a side of fried okra which was also good. Now for the wings, we ordered a 4 pc Mango Habenero, the sauce was really good BUT they almost tasted baked to us, definitely were not fried enough for me, kind of fatty. Also, a big NO NO for me is the mis shaped wings, the ones that look funny, not sure how else to describe them but two of our wings were that way. That completely turns me off of a wing. I don't believe I would order them again unfortunately. I feel like those shouldn't have been served. One last thing, the ranch is horrible. You can just tell by looking at it, it tasted just as it looked. We will definitely try them again though, we want this establishment to thrive here. We understand they just opened and may take some time to get things A+ so we look forward...

So funny thing when I was a little girl Mr. Lee's family and my family were neighbors for years. I love their family so much. They are so sweet. I got a vegan burger with fried okra and a water (trying to watch the figure). My dad got a cheeseburger, fried okra, and a chicken taco, and a sunkist orange soda. It was really good. My vegan burger I request it to be in a lettuce wrap and that's just what i got. They service is great and it's so clean and and smells good. Great service. I'm going there again for the mango habanero wings and some fries. Food is great, service is great. Sorry I don't have pictures. I tore my food up...
