I visited here at 4:14pm on a Saturday with a friend and my sons. We had to wait to be seated but there was no host. We had a short wait before being seated.
The waitress came around 4:17 and took drink order. We ordered at 4:22pm. One of my sons got PB&J sandwich and fries and the other got cheeseburger and fries. I got 6 bone in wings combo with sweet thai chili and fries. My friend got a burger and fries. I also ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. My friend and I ordered sweet tea for our beverage.
When I told waitress I was with Yelp, her energy changed. She became friendlier and even introduced herself (which she didn’t do initially). Her name was Mary. My friend noticed the energy change and mentioned it. I was thinking so in my head, but my thoughts were confirmed after that. (Disclaimer: As part of the Yelp Elite Squad, I got my bone in wings combo for free. However, I paid for the appetizers, the kids meals, and my friend’s meal).
There were many TVs for sports. I’m not a sports fan but my friend enjoys football and was able o watch the Raven’s game.
The mozzarella sticks came at 4:33pm. They were tasty and we enjoyed them. I then ordered pretzels sticks with nacho cheese sauce at this time.
At 4:46pm, we inquired about the sweet teas we ordered and were told by our waitress that they were coming. She also informed us that they are short two cooks. Honestly, we were wondering what that had to do with receiving our sweet teas.
The pretzel sticks came at 4:49pm. They were hot, fresh, and delicious. The cheese on the other hand, was not very tasty.
Our food came at 5pm by a different employee. I asked her about the our sweet teas (that we ordered over 30 minutes prior). 1-2 minutes later, our waitress brought the sweet teas. We were confused as to what took so long to get the sweet teas.
We all enjoyed our food. We didn’t get many fries , however. All in all, I would return. They have a wing special ($.79) on Tuesdays...
Read moreThe Waldo's Wings Experience ( Call-in/Pick-Up Edition). I was conflicted about getting wings or a salad or both on this day. So, I called Waldo's Wings and ordered their Buffalo Boneless Bites salad with specialty sauce (Hot) made with bleu cheese crumbles and crispy bacon on a tossed salad, served in a tortilla shell. I asked for no bleu cheese and bacon. I specifically requested cheddar cheese instead of bleu cheese and was told the salad would come with cheddar. Whoever took my order appeared friendly and provided me with a 15-minute pickup time.
Once I arrived to get my food, I encountered a staff member on their phone. I waited a while and did not disturb, and someone else behind the counter had to tell her to get off her cellphone to assist me. Once home and ready to eat, I noticed I did not have any cheddar cheese on my salad. However, I was pleased with the number of boneless bites I received; but the amount of salad was minimal. So would I return Waldo's? I am not sure if I would return to Waldo's. It has been years since I have been back from frequenting their original location up the street from where they are now. However, I seemed to have liked them better then.
Although I received a nice portion of boneless bites, I was not impressed with the taste. The tortilla shell took up most of the room in the to-go box, and if I had it my way, I would have liked more salad than receiving the tortilla shell. Moreover, I am unsure if whoever took my order listened to me or focused more on their phone. While on the floor working, cell phones should be out of sight. I have often said this in my post in the past for other establishments. Business owners of restaurants pop in on your staff, call in, and invest in secret shoppers so that you can know what is going on in your establishments when you are not there! People will let your service, dreams, and everything you built in your business go down the drain if not...
Read moreI purchased wings on 4/20 to take to a party in Suwannee GA . Upon arrival the wings were undercooked ! There was no cheese Bread and No Sauce for the undercooked wings ! I took a live video and a pic of the receipt so that I could show the management at waldos upon my return to Winston Salem . I spoke to WILLOW over the phone she apologized and told me she could issue me a credit to use whenever I wanted to come back to eat at that location (Reynolda Rd) For the full price of 50 wings . On Wednesday 4/28/21 I called to order 10 wings to go and wanted to use a portion of my credit . To my surprise when I arrived to get my wings I was told I couldn’t have a credit and there was nothing they could do about the undercooked wings ! I was told my trip to Atlanta ruined the order ! After explaining this story to Two different managers , they agreed the wings were undercooked . And offered to help . I said you know what just give me 25 wings and we will call this a done deal ( He agreed ) said wait here I will bring your order out ! 15 min later her came back out and said THE GM said no . Mortified , embarrassed and angry I asked to speak with the GM ! No response . End of story the police were called on me ( for what I do. Not know !🤬. My family has eaten there over 20 years . WE WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME IN THIS PLACE
