Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Winter Park

So a little while back I got a very serious food borne illness from this exact Jimmy John's location. It was life threatening and well I'm just thankful that I'm alive today - spent a good amount of time in the ER. Just wanted to share this experience and let others know this location might not be handling ingredients properly (temperature, expiration date etc.). I did give Jimmy John's the chance to make this better but honestly I just want to make others aware to proceed with caution. There is a lot to be said about the challenges of a F&B operation - I get it and so I can't hold grudges even though I'm upset this happened. It requires serious diligence to operate an establishment serving food as one bad ingredient could cause serious illness in individuals. And sometimes the treatment for a bacteria or food poisoning in general can be so bad that the individual gets nerve damage from the medication (Fluroquinolone antibiotics for example). I hope the Jimmy Johns team is able to improve their operation and that this never happens to anyone else again. Ordered multiple times from this JJ’s. Seems like there’s a different problem every time.

First delivery was no call or text like I asked so I didn’t notice my food arrived.

Second delivery had a hard time finding the place and had to direct them where to go.

Third delivery was late by 10 minutes despite the location being 5 minutes away.

This 4th and latest delivery they had a new driver who called me and I directed them where to go and they still couldn’t find the location. After 30 minutes I called the location and they offered to remake the sub, but with my lunch break being over I had no time left to eat it, so they gave me a refund and credited my account for the free Little John I had gotten through their app. That’s it. They didn’t reimburse me for the time they wasted, only for what I paid for which was never fulfilled on their end, despite them trying to accommodate after the fact.

What bothers me the most is that they wanted to remake it and try again. Not even suggesting a refund. I love JJ’s but this location fails to deliver. Literally and...

I have basically 2 options when it comes to getting marginally reasonably priced lunch delivered to me when I'm at work. Jimmy John's is one of those options and at almost $11 for a sandwich and a cookie, I use the phrase "reasonably priced" very loosely. This location definitely has consistency down pat. They consistently never include a single napkin in my delivery bag, consistently forget to put avocado on my sandwich when I pay extra for it, consistently either drown my sandwich in dressing when it calls for "regular" or only put it on half of the sandwich when I ask for "EZ" (thinking that maybe I'll get a regular amount if I ask for less), and consistently give me a soggy, loosely wrapped bundle of lettuce and lunch meat when I order an Unwich. Jimmy John's in general is NEVER my first choice. I'd rather pay the same price, if not less, and get a sub from Publix that uses meats and cheeses that are worth the ridiculous markup.
