Hong Kong Dragon — Restaurant in Winthrop

My husband, son, and I flew in from Florida. We were DYING for Boston Chinese Food. The Chinese food in Florida is pretty mid at best. My normal haunt had closed down a few years ago. (We moved to Gainesville, FL in 2019.) We found this place on the last minute.

I'M SO HAPPY WE DID!!

The food was everything we needed, and more. The ambience was outstanding. The service was top tier. The restaurant is classy and clean. We ordered sooooo much food. Everything was so fresh, and clearly hand made.

We ordered the Hong Kong Sampler, Sweet and Sour Chicken, hot and sour soup, scallion pancake, chicken Chow Mein, egg rolls, fried shrimp, pork and shrimp fried rice. (I told you we ordered a lot.) When my husband bit into an egg roll, let's just say, I only see that expression during one other activity. The guy was in Heaven.

Everything was served family style. It was hot, and fresh. Super flavorful. The portions were satisfying. We definitely had leftovers. The price was fair.

Stopped in for a few Bourbons while I waited for my wife to finish an appointment. I was a little hungry, so I got an order of fries. They were almost the best french fries I’ve had at any restaurant ever! I like to stop in for a drink because it is quiet in the afternoon, and the gentleman who was serving me was very friendly and talkative. He asked if I wanted to watch anything special on TV. A couple came in and sat at a table across from me. Their food smelled delicious when it came out. My wife and I plan on eating there next month when she has another appointment. I called at 5:55 PM to order delivery. I was quoted roughly 35 minutes and I understand that sometimes things can get busy and it may take a little bit longer, but the food did not come for an hour and five minutes and I live three streets away. I would’ve picked it up myself, but I have a three year-old with the flu. I called about 40 minutes in and was told maybe another 10 minutes but clearly that was not the case. I just think you need to do better at providing estimate estimated times. If I knew it would take over an hour I would have ordered from somewhere else, and then the food...
