It was to my displeasure that I spent my night in this establishment. First I was greeted with soup, and salad. However this is where my excitement quickly ended. The salad was a salad, not much to tell. Fresh blue cheese dressing as I've come to expect of Wisconsin. Croutons were light, and savory. Slightly toasted and not over seasoned. The soup however could be used to describe the entire evening. It was overpowering with the taste of black pepper that left no room for anything else. Tiny strips of dark meat chicken barely visible, and few and far between. Overcooked rice that was both gritty, and soggy. Next came the meal, and all went downhill from here. A German burger ok, I'm half German so why not? They threw sauerkraut on a hamburger and called it my meal. To my distaste they didn't drain it, leaving the entire burger to taste of sauerkraut. Tomatoes were left flavorless, lettuce without crisp. The bun looked as though someone was trying to treat me to a flaky biscuit over a hamburger. I could not discern what cheese they used due to the sheer volume of sauerkraut that lingered upon my tastebuds. If I had one good thing to say it was the fries were perfect. On top of this monstrosity of a meal the customer service was beyond sub par. There were two other tables in the whole restaurant, and five waitresses. Not a single one asked how the meal was or if I needed anything. When the owner was complained to he laughed at us like we were joking. I will never...
Read moreWe came for dinner a couple nights ago and I ordered the ocean perch but I couldn't finish it because it was too thin and they deep fried it on top of that so it was like fish crackers. Even my dad who is not a picky eater tried eating it and couldn't. But we decided to come back because Thursday special is scalloped potatoes and ham w and cabbage rolls and I was looking forward to that. We came in and the waitress greeted us and wanted to seat us at a table but I can't sit on the hard chairs due to my sciatica. We needed a booth. She claimed that section was closed for the night and then the owner came out and said put them in the corner table. So she made her way over to the booth and tossed the menus on the table and went back into the kitchen. She came back a couple minutes later and said drinks? So my dad made a joke and said we're privileged! Because we had got the corner table that we wanted from the owner. So she she blew us off with the wave of her hand and never came back to the table. I watched her walk around the restaurant topping off everybody's water glasses so we just left. Very poor service especially since I came from 2000 miles away for a family visit. Such a horrible experience. I feel bad for the owner because he...
Read moreI am always very adamant to leave a tip, however, I did not this time. My wife and I and our two daughters ordered breakfast during the evening and it was overall just horrible. The veggie omelet had no cheese, was burnt, and had no taste anyway, even if it did have cheese. Who uses canned mushrooms at a restaurant? The hashbrowns seemed like they were doused in butter and tasted like other food which means they don't clean the grill. The pancakes tasted like bagged store bought batter mixed with water. My recommendations would be to downsize your menu so you can focus on making good food. There is probably 150 things on the menu, which means they specialize at nothing. I don't want to tear into the restaurant, I will say the staff was friendly. But, this restaurant could very badly use an overhaul and a visit from the food network-Restaurant Impossible staff. I had to give it 1 star just to make a comment, but it doesn't...
