Tamaracks Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Wisconsin Rapids

Owner is awful. My girlfriend and I stopped there for dinner. I ordered a pizza, the works, no olives and a diet Pepsi. My girlfriend ordered the bluegill and a bloody Mary. After being ignored for the next hour I asked about the status of our order where they informed me that they were running behind but it would be out shortly. About 10 minutes later my pizza showed up covered in olives. I told them that wouldn't work and they responded that it would take to long to cook another one and there is nothing they could do. Our waitress then walked away and avoided looking in our direction. After waiting another 10 minutes for my girlfriends order and it still not coming out, we left. Oh well. Bad experiences happen. What I can't accept is the owner blasting our picture all over their Facebook saying that we walked out on our bill. I immediately called the owner to explain what happened. He didn't care, he said pay the bill, which I never recieved, or they would call the cops. Luckily the community destroyed them on their terrible post and they finally took it down. I feel that we were owed an apology. People like him make it hard for small businesses to make it. I will definitely not spend my money...

The food is always pretty good. The service, however, has been horrible the last 4 out of 5 times my wife and I have gone. The bartenders are extremely rude and have acted inconvienced when asked for another drink or any questions. We've waited for services for 5 to ten minutes when we have been 2 of only 5 people in the bar. We only keep going because of the food and the bloodys are pretty good.

Update 12/31/24

In a way, I feel bad, as im almost certain it was a new bartender. But after waiting 10 minutes for a menu, and after 15 minutes of waiting for a sweet tea and a bloody mary and seeing a shake of the day and 3 others who just walked in after my wife and I get served drinks first, we told the bartender to cancel our order and walked. At this point, I'm doubting our order was even put in. It was a pure shame as I liked frequenting it here before. Went and got Hokkaido and were given our drinks immediately and food shortly after with just as many if not more people, but also there...

I found Tamarack's on my Localicious app on my phone today and I'm glad I did. We've been in the Nekoosa / Rapids area for 10 years and we're always looking for new places. Tamarack's is great! We stopped there for lunch and I had the best Chicken Wrap I've ever eaten and the fries were great too. My wife had an awesome Bloody Mary, as well.

Great family atmosphere with flat screen TVs. The owners are nice people. I definitely recommend it! We won't be looking for new paces...
