The morning on 9/24/2025 around 9:50am, the owner of Subway in the Walmart in Wisconsin Rapids WI denied my service dog to enter. Joe the owner said my dog was an emotional support dog. I told him that my dog was a trained service dog and my dog had a leash that says service dog and that my dog had a tag on his collar that says service dog. He said unless I was blind he doesn’t let those kinds of dogs in. I explained to him that my dog was a service dog and he is trained for medical issues that I have and that I need the service dog. I told him what medical condition I had and that I needed a service dog. He said it didn’t matter, he could deny my dog to come in. I went to my car and looked up how to fill a complaint against a business that deny service dog to enter a business. I went back into Subway because the complaint needed employees name. When i went back in to ask his name. He said it was Joe and that he is the owner. He also said my dog needed a vest on. I told him that I was going to fill a complaint and he said go ahead. According to ADA law my dog doesn’t need to wear a vest. Our dog is well behaved and you can tell that he is working and he knows his job. I called the ADA office and they told me to fill a report against the owner at Subway in Walmart . The ADA said that he discriminated against me with having a disability. He denied me to enter because I wasn’t blind but according to ADA law my dog is a service dog. Also a business is aloud to ask two questions according ADA law. "Is the animal a service animal required because of a disability”. "What work or task has the animal been trained to perform?" They cannot ask about the person's specific disability, ask for any documentation for the animal, or ask the dog to demonstrate its task.” Joe didn’t even ask this. Before going into Subway after checking out at Walmart, my dog was just sitting by me like he is trained to do and after we started to walk in, is when he denied my service dog to enter. My dog didn’t do anything to make Subway that he wasn’t a service dog. I went to another Subway in town and they said they had no issues with my dog and he was well behaved. My son...

Read moreEvery other Subway in my area accepts corporate Subway coupons, received in mail, this one doesn't. I will take my money to the others because I guess this one in Walmart doesn't need it. They say advertising is one of a business's biggest expenses. Go figure!! Would rate 0 if I could. Customer service not very friendly, seems to be consistent. Smile, welcome & thank your customer (like back in the day when companies trained their employees) because without me, you don't have a job. I believe the way the world works is that without sales there is no way to pay expenses such as payroll. Thank you for reading this & have a nice day 🙂 P. S. I guess this location is ideal because I run into this customer service pretty often with Walmart employees. I feel as if they don't want you there or you are an...
