Read morePLEASE come give this beautiful establishment your time! I came here with my best friend on a whim wanting to try something new. We are connoisseurs of Thai food. We were absolutely thrilled with our experience.
We each had a Thai iced tea which was made perfectly. It wasn’t too sweet and had a great balance of milk and tea. We also had the salad roll appetizer (more commonly known as fresh rolls) as well as chicken satay. Both were delicious!! The rolls were made fresh to order in the kitchen, which was incredible! Most Thai places have pre-made rolls that you can’t really adjust. The chicken satay was soooo tasty, and the peanut sauce it came with was to die for.
For a man dish, we shared the most phenomenal Pad See Ew with vegetables and tofu. WOW. I could not be more serious when I say we scraped every tiny bit off of our plates. IMMACULATE.
Let’s talk service. Meen was the sweetest most attentive server ever, and Eileen the host was so kind as well! They took such good care of us. They even started us off with some complimentary hot chamomile tea, which was so perfect considering the wet and chilly weather. Meen brought us a little treat at the end of the meal too, which was just so kind!
Overall we had just the best experience at Plearn Park Eatery. Highly recommend this beautiful local business!! Thank you...
Read moreI was excited to try this place based on everyone else’s glowing reviews. Well, I’m not sure if other reviewers a had a different waitress, a different cook, or a different restaurant entirely, but I have never had such terrible service or such an abominable attempt at Thai food.
Full disclosure: we left before our main courses arrived. Perhaps they would have been amazing and motivated me to leave a five star review. But after 35 minutes of being mostly ignored and chilled by a door inexplicably propped open on a cold and rainy day, the “Tom Kha Gai” soup we were served was such an insult that we decided to try our fortunes elsewhere.
Tom Kha Gai is a simple dish with a delightfully complex flavor - the warm galangal, fruity lemongrass, and savoury fish sauce combine to give the broth an unmistakable taste which is only heightened by the creaminess of coconut milk and the tartness of fresh lime juice. I find it makes a good benchmark for the typical Thai restaurant.
What we were served at Plearn Park tasted to me like coconut milk with a hint of lime juice. My wife disagrees; she thought it tasted like wood. What we both agree on was that this was the worst Thai food we have ever eaten across three different continents. The only thing which might be worse was the service. Best give...
