The most delicious Chinese Food I've ever had in my life was in Chinatown in Philadelphia in the 1980's......UNTIL TODAY!! China Wok is crazy delicious!
The very first time I heard about China Wok was in October, 2014, when I received a menu in the mail. I looked it up on Yelp, didn't find it, so I added the business to Yelp, hoping that someone would go there and review it. Over the next 3 years, as of today, there are only 3 reviews and one tip, and they're all good, but they're new. I'm thinking maybe people don't use Yelp as much as they used to, because 2 days ago, I found a TON of reviews of this place on Google!! I couldn't WAIT to try it!!
So, today we ordered AND requested Delivery (something I've never done before, EVER). They took my credit card over the phone, which is a huge plus for me, and they said 45 minutes, but the really nice guy got here in 40. The food was piping hot and fresh, and everything was/is incredibly fabulous!
Here's how we rate Chinese Food. Always order Fried Rice and a Pu Pu Platter: if those 2 offerings are great (and they're better than great here!), then proceed to noodles. We opted for the Singapore Noodles: a slightly spicy version of Chow Mei Fun, which are super thin rice noodles that are similar to angel hair pasta. This was/is fantastic! We tried 2 Thai offerings: Beef Basil Fried Rice and Shrimp Pad Thai. OMG ARE YOU KIDDING ME? BEST THAI EVERRRR!!! And lastly, we got General Tso's Chicken FREE because we ordered over $40.00 of food. It's the most spectacular General Tso's Chicken on the planet (maybe in the Universe lol)!
So if you're reading this, do yourself a huge favor and get over to China Wok (or let them come to you). You will never, ever, enjoy a Chinese (or Thai) meal as much, anywhere else again! Delicious, reasonable, fresh hot food from a Chinese place in Wolcott, CT: dreams really DO come...

This is absolutely the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I ordered chicken and broccoli, which usually does not have a dark brown salty sauce in it. The vegetables were overcooked mush, the chicken, I don’t even think was chicken. I kind of want to send it out to a lab to find out but I won’t. Maybe I will maybe I won’t. I don’t know, but it was mush it was it looked like entrails it just did not look like , any kind of chicken I’ve ever had at a Chinese restaurant the pork fried rice while it was decorative with a lot of colored vegetables in it it was bland and had no flavor two eggrolls. I took one bite out of one I threw them away I gave the chicken and broccoli to my dogs after rinsing it off and they would not touch it. My dogs eat anything but they would not touch this horrid excuse for chicken and broccoli, the owners of this place should be ashamed of themselves. They should be sent back to China. They should not be allowed to cook food in the United States of America. They are a disgrace to their profession do not eat this food. Please do not order food from this horrible place I am calling the health inspectors office on Monday. I’m going to tell them about the rack that I saw running around the kitchen while I was waiting to pick up my food, hopefully they will be thoroughly inspected and shut down by the state. This is the worst Chinese food I’ve had in all 49 years of me being on this earth do not eat here. I cannot stress it enough. Do not eat here. My dog ate. A few bites of it is outside vomiting now do...
Read moreChina Wok left much to be desired, both in terms of food and cleanliness. The food was average at best. The lo mein lacked flavor, and the fried rice was dry, barely seasoned, and underwhelming. Even the General Tso’s chicken, which is usually a go-to favorite, was soggy and overly sweet, with very little spice. It felt like everything had been sitting out for too long rather than being freshly prepared.
What made the experience worse was the condition of the restaurant itself. The inside was unsanitary, with sticky tables and floors that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in days. The bathroom was also in poor condition, which made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. While the staff was friendly enough, the lack of attention to cleanliness and quality really overshadowed everything else.
If you’re looking for a quick bite and don’t mind mediocre food, China Wok might do the trick. But I can’t say I’ll be returning anytime soon given the state of...
