It's 5.99 per pound. They weighed my carton and said "one half" so I said "Oh, I thought I had more than that. That's great. I'll get a little more." I put more food in and brought it back up and the lady said "two half." I said I have two halves? I mean I have one? I now have one pound? I think I have more than one pound. That should be about six or seven dollars." She said "two half." I said "I only had one half (which is one half of a pound) and now I have two half (which is not even a thing) so I don't know what to pay you. Do you mean I had 'one half of a pound' before or 'one and a half pounds' before? Do I have 'two halves' now? Or do I have 'two and a half' now?" She looked really annoyed with me and turned the scale around and said you have one half now you have two half. The scale read "two AND a half pounds." So when I thought I was under $5.99 I was already at $8 and I ended up spending about $16 on a carton of food. The food was pretty good but it's really not that hard to learn the word AND. One and half. Two and half. It's a business. "One half" is three times less the weight than "one and half."
I should have known better and I thought it seemed odd but I was really excited that I still have more to go before I made it up to a pound. Okay, so I'm an idiot. LOL I know I'm very hesitant about going there again not only because it was confusing, but because when I asked and was confused the lady was rude. THAT was the whole point of this. I asked how much and she was cross with me. "One half. Two half." I didn't know why she was angry when I was trying to figure out what "two half" meant. It meant a very expensive meal. Almost all of the food tasted good. For that reason, I...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews on buffets cause I usually know what to expect (mediocre food that satisfies that Chinese American craving) but Best Buffet earns its name. The food selection is fantastic, there are sooo many dishes to choose from - your standard Chinese dishes from sweet and sour chicken, peanut butter chicken, Mongolian beef, etc to seafood both raw, cooked, and fried (the butterfly shrimp were delish!) to hibachi and sushi (I didn’t get to try half of what I wanted cause there was so much to choose from and I was far too full to eat another bite). The service was also fantastic. Two gentleman were attentive to me and my parents, constantly asking if we needed refills (we even got to-go refills!), clearing plates, and just being generally pleasant. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, clean, and it wasn’t overly crowded (though it should be, this place is so good!). The food was all so tender (sometimes buffets have jerky like food that’s been sitting a bit too long), but even the things that seemed to have been sitting still tasted so good and fresh. The dessert variety was also amazing and honestly those little cakes and whatever that cinnamon crumb cake were were soooo good. I know this is a long winded review, but the rating on here doesn’t give this place the credit it deserves and I hope my review gives this place the clout it deserves because this place is a hidden gem. So much selection, great customer service, and fed me, my mom, and my dad for $60. We even went on a Saturday during “lunch rush” and it wasn’t busy at all. (Please make this place busier lol they...
Read moreThis place is amazing! We have hit several buffets around the metro east area, and Best Buffet Grill hands down smokes the competition. The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly and very attentive and the place was super clean. Not only was the selection very large, there was attention to detail with every offering. For me, it was the smaller points that stood out. Example - I like a healthy base of rice under my selections and I love it when there's a nice mix of the sauces from each portion mingling around in that rice base. A lot of places seem to put just enough sauce to coat the meat and veg. This place had an ample amount of sauce in the bottom of each tray. I know, it's a small thing, but to me, it's an important thing. And don't get me started on those desserts! The little tiramisu was fabulous, as well as the little orange cake, and whatever that cinnamon bundt cake was...divine. Not gonna lie, I was a bit bummed that I didn't notice the little cups of what looked like homemade ice cream in the freezer towards the back, before I was too full to attempt eating anything more. Next time I will start with dessert first! 😃 And yo, they even offered us to-go cups for our beverages! Who does that?! I wish I could give them six stars. We will be back soon!...
